veronica 2
Which resorts have machines that check your tickets before getting on a lift?? Are there many? I certainly haven't noticed many.
Markie 0
The only resort I've been to so far with those is Niseko.
sweetaz 0
At Mt Ruapehu(NZ)....ok it's not japan but.....they scan season passes when you get on the lifts, which is sweet cause you can get a printout of how many days you've got in over the season. Which is great for when you get so many in that you lose count!
sanjo 2
Are they more common overseas than in Japan?? Hardly ever seen any here - many Niigata places have the old farmers with their brushes checking tickets rather than cool robots.
neurozoo 0
Hakuba 47, Goryu both have the electronic sensor thingy..
mina2 6
There are still very few here that use that system and I doubt many places will be thinking of investing money in it with the complete lack of people on the slopes this year. I don't know how some (most?!) of these resorts can keep open....
bobby12 0
sun alpina Kashimayari also has them. i seem to remeber Tsugaike, Cortina and Iwatake having them too. I'm pretty sure all the big ones in hakuba have them.

IM 0
This year, Niseko (all resorts)installed a new machine from Austria. If you are a multi-day, season pass holder, your photo will pop up on a screen in the lift shack. This supposed to prevent bartering and re-selling.
