I think I recall some talk of this way back, but does anyone (Westerners) here have their name written in kanji? Even if it's just joke kanji?

Someone I know wants to make a really traditional stone hanko for me (he is insisting!), and wants to know what it should be. So some of my Japanese friends are coming up with their ideas.

真悪=MARK???

When the princess died a kid in class wasn't under standing to well, and kept saying "big hole) ”大穴”

We use to have fun making up swearwords:

How about 明日穴 (anyone?)

Miso that is just too damn funny! lol.gif I'll be telling that story for a long time to come!

Manuel, finding kanji for a name is about personal preference. It is just a matter of finding a combination of kanji that match the pronounciation of your name. There would be any number of combinations you could put together to make your name. Each would have a wildly different meaning. It's not as simple as just saying, "oh, this is the kanji for Bob".
