  1. 61cm THAT'S INSANE!! Save some snow for me the week after The excitement is building.
  2. I always wear thermals under my jeans if we were going somewhere (but then I am a girl). Mr Snowhunter usually wore his snowboarding pants or just his jeans.
  3. We just bought Guitar Hero to keep Mr Snowhunter entertained before we leave as he is going insane counting the days down, cant ride his skateboard as he has been banned until we leave!! So much fun he has to play it sitting down and gets a sweat up and has a blister on his hand. I can only play it standing up, lucky there are no hidden cameras . GREAT FUN!!!
  4. Just watched Jumanji again haven't seen it for ages. It is a good movie.
  5. We bought a torch once - shatterproof, drop from tall buildings, everything was covered but it warned that it would not protect you from shark attack !!!!! WHAT THE
  6. CHECK OUT THE 7 day report now MODERATE snow from Friday night to Saturday night with the rain on Thursday night now changed to snow showers. YAHOO!! Bring it on we leave in 13 days and counting. I new Niseko wouldn't let us down. I was a bit worried for a while there with the January Rain.
  7. Excuse me but WHAT THE HELL is FISTING?????
  8. I'm a bit spoilt with Kebabs - I make them at home alot. Yep I make the sauces and put in my own variety of goodies and wrap it up and bang it in the sandwich toaster. YUMMY. I quite often have them for my dinner.
  9. WELL to much of the beer and YES they may be all added together in a bowl
  10. When we were in NZ a couple of years ago we got 2 gatorades and 2 buckets of chips and it came to $18. I nearly passed out. I realise this year is going to be more expense but I still think it is cheaper to eat on the hill than anywhere else I have been. I have worked out that if I get a large beer from the vending machine by the time I have drunk 1/2 I will be off my face and pass out and presto there is a huge saving on dinner. Oh yeah and I will 1/2 for the next night.
  11. Take care of yourself Mamabear. You should know that a family can't operate if the key member gets injured. Tanty throwing can always be fixed with a hot chocolate I KNOW I throw them regularly when skiing.
  12. YAHOO it's a long weekend here in Oz. Australia Day means a day of Pies with sauce, Lamingtons and beer.
  13. Thank you again for the report. Heres hoping for some good snowfalls. Here on the Gold Coast we have also had ALOT of rain and it is very HOT & HUMID Perfect for Australia Day. Think I will have to owe MP a beer for his reports
  14. Chocolate Fondue:- Melt a Toblerone, Milky Bar, and Plain Milk Chocolate add cream and a little rum then dip strawberry's, bananas and marshmallows. HOW DECADENT is that?? BUT GOOD!!
  15. Thanks for the updates Mike I was starting to get withdrawals. What is the news on the damage re the rain. Or don't I even want to know.
  16. I know I have said this in another thread but this is for the people who don't read that one. Everyone who is going to japow skiing should have a drink for Pete and take a photo and post it so he knows we are all thinking of him. Also will make us realise how lucky we are to be there.
  17. Okay Blade I am running with your on the spot report. I emailed one of my friends today who is coming with us and told her we may not be able to ski while we are there but we will be able to ice skate down the slopes. She was not impressed
  18. Have a GREAT TRIP Mike. I think that everyone who is going should have a beer for Pete and take a photo and post it so he knows we're all thinking of him.
  19. I'm hearing you R. Funny if it was just you going you wouldn't be as stressed as you are now you have built Japow up and talked them into coming with you and dumping their usual boring holidays nothing like a little stress. Yep that 7 day weather forecast becomes an essential daily viewing just before you leave.
  20. good thread it has bought a smile to my face. I must admit I to was a little concerned as a couple of the web cams I looked at also showed more slush and less snow. It is always much appreciated the expert advice of the locals like GN & MP. Please don't get angry with us we are thousands of miles away and SO EXCITED about our trips that the thought of a 3mt base is just to much to comprehend. I love Japan at a 2mt base but at 3 mt I am beside myself plus I talked all my friends into coming so a good season will be a bonus.
