Some polls! -
I don't know if this belongs here or the general off-topic. Anyhows. For those who have been to Kyoto - what do you think? It is obviosuly one of the places to visit when you are in Japan, but on my short visit I was disappointed and I have heard that comment a few times. Yes the temples were nice but nothing so much better than what I have seen in Nikko, etc. and there was that distance between them full of normal Japanese city. I didn't spend that much time there and have heard good things as well and so I am very open to going back and finding more but I was just interested to hear wha

Because I am not in a hotel, I am in many places, I don't want to give out UK numbers, I don't want to complicate things with other number etc etc. I appreciate the help, but I just want to know how the World Wing thing works and the charges. I'll give them a call. Thanks!

Thanks. I am ovrseas about 6 weeks a year and basically I want people who don't use skype (ie. most of my work contacts) to be able to contact me on my normal keitai number. I may also need to call back to Japan, but not much. If it is not too expensive (seems it might be) it would be useful to be able to use the phone within the UK calling normal UK phones. I do not want this to call overseas from Japan.
-
I think that is it yes. As I have never owned or have been interested in keitais before, why would I know?

OK so I am looking at the Docomo World Wing service where you can actually take your phone overseas and use it there - people can call you from Japan and you can call Japan etc. The costs are confusing me and the website etc are not helping clear it up in my mind. If anyone uses that or understands it, please help! Here are the 2 main points that I can't clear up: - if I receive a call say in the UK from someone in Japan, do I pay for that? - if I am in the UK and call someone on a normal UK land line in the UK, what cost am I using there? - if I am in the UK and someone

Where are you going Kumapix? -
Thanks folks. I'm not really tempted at all by the thought of gambling. It's more some dancing, drinking and other types of fun I'll be interested in

Very nice pictures Sir Jib. I'd like to go there, you enjoy it?

Anyone still riding the snow?

My friend spend 2 days in Okutadami and came back with a tan as if he'd been in Thailand or something. Quite funny. All google eyes as well. -
A keitai that is. Been holding out but the pressure is just too much now. So I go into the shops and am overwhelmed with the choice. There's just so many. So I thought I'd ask the gang what they have and thought on what would be a good one to get. Might as well get something half decent while I'm starting as I see it costs a fair bit to swap once you've started the payments! Any tops keitai tips?

The snow seems so long ago now. Oh well, the next snow is something to look forward to. -
I used to, er, "love" this song. Sounds just so 80s and totally cheesy now of course. I was shattered when they were revealed as fakes. But lets enjoy I'm interested in other 80s blasts from the past.

Hey a friend of mine is going to be living in Las Vegas for a year and I'm real keen to visit the place - always have been. Anyone on here from there? Really looking forward to it, any top tips would be great as I prepare it all. I hear it is really "hot" (as in the place to be) right now.

Seems like this place divides people then - it's natural people who are looking for advanced terrain won't like it. Doesn't mean it's a terrible resort though. -

I'm really rediscovering and loving REMs Up album at the moment. At My Most Beautiful, Daysleeper, Diminished, Parakeet, Falls to Climb - there are some great melodic melancholy songs on there that I didn't quite notice when it was first released.
