  1. Just saw the web cams, great to see all white everywhere up there.
  2. Changed to snow tyres about a couple of weeks ago. I usually change to winter tyres around mid Nov, but my normal tyres had sod all tread on them so thought better to change early just in case the police happened to check my tyres.
  3. As far as meals go here, I usually go for quantity, regardless of price, because virtually everywhere here give such small bird portions that I am still hungry when I come out of the restaurant anyway. I like the few places that offer unlimited rice, unfortunately to few and far between.

That reminds me years ago in one of my local pubs, they use to have this special deal, if you could eat a 1kg stake and large portion of chips and all the trimmings to go, then you didn't have to pay for the meal. To say the least not many people managed to get the free meal. Me a
  5. Agree with you fully Mantas, they are scum no to words about it! If I had my way I'd hang them up by their balls literally and leave them their to die a slow and painful death.

It is a US thing. Ok now I'm clear, never tried that, but sounds good actually!
  7. Never delete mine, I guess I keep them just in case I need them sometime, which I almost certainly wont, as email in boxes tend to have unlimited space nowadays never bother deleting them now.

The Papabear is addicted to the stuff - and of course not being able to buy it in Australia (well not in an instant form anyway) he hangs out for parcels from the USA. He has been OUT for a while now and a parcel from the USA containing some sachets is down the local PO right now. I will collect it
  9. Interesting, seems only Japanese like Earl Grey, and naturally people here think that all British must like Earl Grey and are rather surprised when I tell them I hate the stuff and that no one in England drinks it except maybe the royal family?
  10. Ask a stupid question here but wont that man made snow melt, as the temps are still way to high for snow to survive without melting during the day at least? Or do they just keep on pumping it out until the real snow actually hits? Sorry for my ignorance, but unless the temps are not much above freezing or the ground has refrigerators under it how is the snow going to not melt?

  12. Nice pic, you do realise posting that pic is going to make everyone even more impatient and desperate to get onto the slopes. That does it I'm moving to Hokkaido!

That thing in the picture has a serious problem, they all do. I mean I have nothing against people having a small tat on their arm or calve or even somewhere else if they wish, but to stick huge holes in their body and destroy their skin with all that gra

  16. Have to say I always use my mouse unless I am out somewhere with my laptop, the mouse is so much easier. But actually once you get use to the touch pad it is easy enough to use, but slow when you want to do scrolling or editing I find.
  17. Ok thought I would start a tea thread as there doesn't seem to be one. Just wondering how many here are like me are totally addicted to English tea? I have stacks of English tea in my house, tetley, waitrose, which is tetley and also yorkshire tea. Although I am in Japan I rarely drink Japanese tea, it just doesn't do it for me. I drink about 10 cups a day if I am at home. If I am out for a few days I always bring tea bags with me, heaven forbid if I had to drink the stuff here they call tea. Although Doutor tea actually is drinkable, except for the horrible cream th
  18. Maybe I am just old fashioned or something, but those guys here look absolutely dreadful, christ imagine if little children saw them walking doen the street they would most probably have bloody nightmares. Sorry but Tattoos like those = Not cool and Not clever at all.

  23. Ok all a final update, well have to say this year is a tough one, and I am still not 100% sure myself if I am right this year, everything is later than most years. Furthermore some signs that are usually a definate haven't really shown this year. Looking around some signs are telling me to put away your skis and get out the sun loungers instead, where as other signs are telling me get your snow ploughs out you are going to need them. To make things worse things that indicate towards a warm winter and things that indicate towards a cold winter are about even, usually not like that, although
  24. Yes I used my car, it is possible to get a bus from Jyomo Kogen shinkansen station, but it is a pain in the rear and appartently takes for ever more, plus not plentyful. Better to use your car, from the nearest inter which is NUMATA, you are looking at a good hour at least by car if the roads are clear, if it is dumping, which it usually is once you get nearer, it can take longer. And I recommend 4x4 with winter tyres, unless you enjoy getting stuck and slip-sliding every where.
