  1. I think around 15-20th Sep is kind of average, but recent few years has been early with two years ago getting snow on the 9th. If any thing fall from the sky later this week then Fuji is likely to get some snow.
  2. Was chilly all day and only got to 19. Actually turning cold and if the sky clears we could be seeing temps down into single digits here.
  3. A cloudy and coldish start, and provably going to keep on the chilly side if it keeps cloudy.
  4. It is very nice I went there in June a few years ago now and loved the place, very beautiful and peaceful.
  5. After a sunny / cloudy day it is raining again. Tomorrow dry, maybe.
  6. They very a lot. Some have clear water which are gensen, others are brown and contain a lot of iron and look and look and smell like rusty iron. Then you get some that are brown but contain radium. There are also white sulfur onsens that smell like rotten eggs, salt onsens as well as acidic onsens. Temps of the water can vary from a very cool 35oC to as high as 50oC. They can be anything from really small to really big and can be found anywhere from the edge of a river to a posh hotel to the middle of a village. They also have different healing and relaxing properties. Ones suc
  7. After last nights heavy rain it is kind of sunny but with thick cloud hanging around. A strong cold nw wind blowing and much cooler than yesteday.
  8. When I was in JMart this evening I saw they had Boddingtons, and was going to buy some until I saw the price nearly 500 yen for a small tin, WTF. So didnt bother.
  9. Had a nice ice cold tinny tonight, all that cycling is hard work a beer is a requirement after. Lol
  10. David you could maybe just make the offer available to the ones who did post a report and pics?
  11. As expected the rain arrived, been pooring down very heavy rain for the past 3 hours. And I think set to continue into the night.
  12. Wow the weather kept sunny until about an hour ago, clouded up now and loks like rain is on its way again. Was nice and warm and sunny actually got to 27 here earlier on and was really nice. Did about 50k on my bike, lovely.
  13. Ok it is that time where we all start to get excited when the first snow of the new season is spotted so thought I would make a thread for it. Amazingly enough I can see Fuji san today the first time in what seems like months. And with the feeezing level next week going doing to or below the peak of Fuji any percipitation could well be snow up there. So lets posting pics of the first snow on any mountains that are blessed with the white stuff!
  14. A beaut of a day, although quite a lot of cloud hanging around the sun is out, its nice and bright, with a coldish wind and cool temps, perfect. The spoiler though it may well rain again later today, but for now nice and just perfect for cycling which is what I am going to do.
  15. Cloudy here wirh intermittent light rain and looks like it also rained at night. Supposed rain off and on all day.
  16. Yes forgot about those, they too are very painful if you get bitten by them.
  17. I dont mind snakes and dont mind to pick them up as long as I know they are not posionous. In Japan the only posionous snake is the 'habu' which only lives in Okinawa and is fatal if not treated quickly. Others like the ao daisho and shima hebi that live throughout Japan if they bite you it is very painful and the area bitten will swell like a football, but is not fatal and you will make a full recovery, just bloody painful. Both of those snakes I have seen around here. If you see them dont touch them they will snap at you and you will know it if they bite you. Normally they hide under
  18. Great decision to bin one lady who was involved with sorting out the N.Korea abductions NOT, only to replace her with someone else who has had no involvement in it. Most have maintained there same posts, so a kind of half cabinet re-shuffle I say. A couple of new positions, one to do I think it was in charge of getting Fukushima cleaned up, if I remember correctly and a newely invented position. Basically not much improvement on before the re shuffle. I dont expect much to get done as usual so no surprise really.
  19. I have seen about 8 to 10 snakes around this way a few on my fields one in my greenhouse and two in our garden. Nothing like the 3ft one that hissed at me last year at my old field.
  20. Minakami by the way is just over the orher side of the mountain in Gunma prefecture but very close to all the Yuzawa resorts.
  21. @gg all car roofs have ridges but are normally covered by a plastic strip you just remove that and then you clip your roof rack rails to that. After that then you can attach roof boxes etc to them. Any car can hold a roof rack. Mr.Wiggles I have no idea which one is good. All I can recommend is look at some onlnei forums or go and ask around some shops that sell them. Although I have used roofracks in the past I have never used a roof box.
  22. Yes Yuzawa is nice and dows have plenty of ski hills from small to big and with plenty of terrain variation. Like Maru said if you have a car then real easy to visit a different place everyday.
  23. Cloudy again and after a rather chilly start it has actually warmed up. Only 20oC, but feels warmer than that. Rain later to day maybe.
