Low flying plane in New York
ausi ski bum replied to veronica's topic in General off-topic discussions
I agree it is time they moved on. Every time they over react the terrorists win a little more. -
Great song but a little dated now, in particular this line Quote: And the young people ask "What are they marching for?" The Young people of Australia have really taken on the spirit and meaning of Anzac Day more than the generations of the 60's to the early 90's. For some reason they just get it. I was listening to a group of my sons friends the other day all planning their Anzac Day, as a teen I never had such commitment. My kids were both in the Air Force Cadets and the proudest day of the year was ANZAC Day, they would be up before dawn and standing on post at the

I am reading Clive Cusslers Corsair, its the latest and fifth in the Oregon Files series which are excellent. The Oregon Filles would make brilliant films.

And worth every cent too,

Knowing Niseko well I find this just Bizzar, the roads are easy to walk around, the local people are so friendly. I wonder about a freak accident like sitting to close to a building when the snow slid off the roof. Unfortunatly its not looking good for this young guy on what should have been an excellent holiday, my thoughts go out to the family.

I love this

The button that launches the nukes. Obama is going to win by a landslide, could easily be by over 100 electoral votes
-
McCain has a real Anger Management problem just the kinda guy you want with his finger on the button

Yep I love the if you don't like the question, just answer your own theory. I was able to get a copy of her game plan One of the lesser impresive moments

I believe Obama will win by 5 to 15 electoral votes and go on to be a very succesful President, he may even change VP's in his second term to Hillary if the older Biden opts out at 70.

moiwa tanks again
ausi ski bum replied to Fattwins's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I love Moiwa, low cost great powder and a variet of runs, had three fantastic days there in January, one we were skiing knee deep powder on the main runs for most of the day untracked. I looked at the apartments, it was a total con job, the fee's were through the roof, the restrictions on use (just two weeks) made it so even though you owned it, you could not use it. I assume the promised new lift from the apartments into the resort is not happening. Shame in a way but the apartments were grossly over priced. I hope no one got caught -
Who lives in the remotest / smallest place?
ausi ski bum replied to BagOfCrisps's topic in General off-topic discussions
I live in a valley about 6km from the town of Cootamundra in country NSW, there are about 10 homes between my 2.5 hectare property and the main road that is 2.6 km from here. Very reclusive living, I love it. -
There is a long time until the November vote, no matter who wins Obama or Clinton they will have a lot of time to get the support. I believe Obama will win and who he choses as a running mate will mae a huge difference in the final result. My guess of his first choice.... Al Gore Second Choice (based on a number of things he has said) Condy Rice Last Choice ... Clinton

I have seen a number of Australian pols that suggest 75% of Australians want to see Obama win. Many in the US want to see there country return to its proud days and be more liked OS, I know of many that will be voting for Obama simply because he is best to deliver on that alone.

I suspect it will all be over after the PA Primary, Clinton is losing her lead by the day. The Bosnia lie is nearly as good as the one where she said Chelsie was Jogging around the World Trade Centre on 9/11 2001 (when she was home watching it in bed) and that she was named after Edmond Hillary after the conquest of Everest (even though it happened five years after she was born)

Rusutsu stashes?
ausi ski bum replied to TobZ's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I loved Rusutsu we went over there four times this trip, I like the gullies and tree runs and when you get tired the main red runs are so well groomed its a pleasure to go cruising for a while. -
Had the Mon Cafe ones as well there not bad either, I like a nice brewed coffee with a bit of skim milk, I have those whiteners and the Americans Creamer Yuck
-
Nope Love um, Importing would be great if I had a distribution system in place, I just love the smell and taste of real coffee over instant and these things are a great comprimise.
-
Wow I have developed a real liking for the Blendy coffee bags where you pop the bag on the top of your mug and you have your own mini dripilator. I bought heaps last year when I was in japan and this year as well bringing 12 packs of 10 back to Oz with me. Trouble is we have nothing like these and I really like blended coffee but making a single cup is a hassel. I like the Green and Brown packets (not so much the cream coloured ones) and would love to find a supplier of them that will post them or that distributes them here in Australia. Any ideas

Rain this weekend
ausi ski bum replied to Go Native's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I arrive Friday and when I got there in January this year it was also raining followed by a huge snow event. One thing I learned over my years of skiing is I really don't care it will snow when its ready. There is a lot more snow now then this time last year GN from what I read, Christmas last year was only about 80cm. If it rains well there are heaps of other exciting activities in the area. -
Merry Christmas Everyone
