  1. How about some aussie footy? http://warriordoc.com/images/Sports/The_G.jpg
  2. yep. The first shot was in late autumn (before snow) and pleasent weather, I attempted kasa the next week in very bad weather by myself and made it to the ridge, but HAD to turn back...it was too cold and no visibility (actually there were some lives lost that day). My local connection reckons the back hike up to Kagami down to shin hodaka is SAFE after winter. But heavily avalanche prone in the winter. The snow here is melting out now, and spring conditions are arriving. I hope they open the Nori road earlier than usual.
  3. Congratulations AK, and a hearty welcome to the broken nose club! Chicks dig it.....
  4. Self employed in Japan as of April this year, finally after 7 years. **** THE BOSS! **** THE BOSS! **** THE BOSS!
  5. Thanks man, Im going with a guy thats been doing it (plus Yari) for 20 years, in Spring. Shit Toque, only met you once but I wish you were still around.
  6. Kagamidaira....to the bottom of Shin Hodaka. Six hour hike, and a half hour run. I know it's possible....got the right mates... TTT
  7. Conditions were a bit icy this mornig, but the snow was just starting to fall. It's snowing today and tonight, hoping for a powder session the morning. Just have to go higher.
  8. Quote: "Using probes, we found a guide who had been under the snow for an hour and he was still alive. We think he's OK." jeeez. That guy was lucky. Definitely signing up for an avie course ASAP.
  9. I dont count half days But might do some jibbin tonight in the field behind my house, does that count as .25?
  10. I like Japan but you have to remember it is basically a masochistic society where everyone is trying to out do each with how much they can suffer. Kind of opposite from the aussie theory of 'work to live' ie work to maintain or achieve a certain desired level of lifestyle, rather in Japan it is to maintain a lifestyle that supports work ie live to work. Not saying either way is right or wrong, but if you like your personal time it's best to understand this. The key is to try and find that niche where you can take care of financial repsonsibilities without selling your soul to a/the
  11. Today was great by anyones standards. No one out and enough pow for big rooster tails. We had about 30cms in the valley, and much more up in the hills. But, it has stopped..........again.
  12. Still dumping here in Kamioka too. If it holds out could be a good weekend, or even better, a before work session tomorrow. Though, I must admit, these before work sessions are bloody hard work, not physically but mentally. Similar to trying to teach while coming down off crack cocaine.
  13. If it could just hold out though. Seems to dump for about one day a week, then gradually melts over the remaining week. Need serious 3 day dumps.
  14. My knees are getting progresively sorer, and are starting to make poki poki noises when I bend them. hmmmmm. More bloody medical bills. Oh well, the price for pleasure.
  15. Thankyou tsondaboy for that response. Of course I learnt a lot from that experience, and never want to repeat it. It's a head f*ck experience (as mentioned by another poster) and it does bum out your day. And yeah, I suppose I have to take the blame. Maybe I am just one of those anti social creatures that gets fed up with the amount of traffic and other peoples bad manners. tsondaboy, how much is an hour on your couch?
  16. Quote: what? he's purposely not avoiding people. How is that safe? Location: Hong Kong Hong Kong? I hear there are lots of slopes there.

Tell me about it. You also have to fork out for your own medical bills as well, plus loss of income due to days off. Last year I forked out over 300,000 yen in medical bills due to an accident, and I'm still paying it off. 20 years surfing, never had hit a person. Never had a car crash. (Japan, or home) Paragliding...never collided with anyone, but had one severe crash which left me limpin
