  1. I reckon the Aussie housing market is over valued. Housing affordability is three times harder than in my parents day. Mortgage repayments account for over 50% of the household income. ( 6.8 % bank interest rate). This is reflected in the fact that over half of all home loans issued in Aus last year were interest only. Housing affordability is only just within the grasp of people now, so where are all these buyers going to come from to push the prices up further? There is an undersupply of housing in Aus. but the only thing putting pressure on prices at the moment is a growing population an
  2. A mate of mine was there in June and said the crowd was not too bad. 30-40 guys, less on bigger days. I know that sounds like a lot, but i've been there with 30 guys and it's not a problem. Spook, have you ever been to Bali?
  3. Awesome Spook! Looks like some solid ones there. When they look solid in the photos, you know it will look much bigger when your out there. Your right about seeing things that the average tourist/backpacker misses out on. I was thinking that when I was in Sumatra. I was amazed that I didn't see one single tourist or backbacker in the 2 weeks I was there. As it's not really that remote. BTW. I think I'm gunna go to G=Land next year.
  4. .....and by now Andrew Munro must be wondering how his sincere query about the age old dilemma of 'Hakuba vs Niseko' has turned into a review of international fried fish.

  7. This is all my own work. You slackers!!! Apathy (also called impassivity or perfunctoriness) is a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation and passion. An apathetic individual has an absence of interest in or concern about emotional, social, or physical life. He or she may exhibit an insensibility or sluggishness, also. The opposite of apathy is flow.[1] In positive psychology, apathy is described as a response to an easy challenge for which the subject has matched skills. Often, apathy has been felt after witnessing
  8. Looks pretty much like the hotel where I stayed in New Delhi. It was mid range. It had a three pappadam rating.
  9. Talking about quivers. My mate headed over to WA a few months ago with TEN boards. My wife doesn't understand why I need 4.
  10. Getting serious with the nine footers mate. Where do you ride them? My previous gun was 7'2". There have been a few times when I just couldn't get onto the waves. No excuses now. My current quiver. 6'6", 6'8", 7'2", 7'6"
  11. Hope you score BM. Love to see some photos up if you do. I just bought a 7'6". The biggest board I've ever owned. I took it out the other day in 3-4 foot surf.... Man is it hard to duck dive. The thing just wont stay down.
  12. It's a real shame for India. It must be so hard for a third world country to lift itself out of poverty when any opportunity to progress is choked with bureaucracy and corruption.
  13. Quote: Regarding the Rape of Nanjing: "They say we made a holocaust there, but that is not true. It is a lie made up by the Chinese." Astonishng that such delusional arogance can make it into main stream politics by popular vote.

Actually I didn't even realise it was The daily Telegraph until you said. Just offering up something other to read. Didn't think the source (or the content) were that important really.
  15. Has anyone been following this ? Indeed does anyone still follow the commonwealth games at all? Things are shaping up as a real disaster for India. First there was a pedestrian bridge collapse, then the roof of the wrestling stadium collapsed, two tourists have been shot dead, an outbreak of dengue fever and now this. "There are stray dogs on beds, shit in rooms." It's all OK though because. "It is not such a big issue we should be ashamed of. Westerners have different standards of hygiene."
  16. Damm, I'll bet they wished they had detachable chairs on that lift. Will they extend the season?

I wouldn't want her life. What a meaningless, trivial, frivolous existence.
