  1. The kids are constantly picking up these bugs. At first it was a big deal but now I'm pretty much used to it. Besides which, a good purge once or twice a year is healthy, no? If it interferes with my ski trips though, that's when I get pissed.
  2. Worked it's way through the family slowly. Son->Daughter->Dad.... Wife hasn't gotton it yet.
  3. Markets have been up and up again recently amid disappointing unemployment numbers. Seems wall street is hoping for shitty numbers so that Washington keeps throwing more bones their way. ...And the yen usually falls when people start putting more money back into Wall street but it's still way up there as the B of J tries desperately to reign it in. All of this is too much for me to understand. Actually, what I don't understand is why some of the markets (specifically the N. American ones) are doing as well as they're doing. Time to sell?
  4. It's also the name of a very fine looking, iconic mountain range in Wyoming.... named by early French explorers, Jynxx. A clever name for a company if you ask me.

I thought the Japanese government are actually TRYING to devalue the yen? Right.. "to keep the yen from rising further, it should be.
  6. The foreign markets seem set to open higher, liking the Japanese move. We shall see in a few moments. What the Japanese move says to me though, is that nobody expects the world economy to do jack-shit and it's all they can do to keep the yen from falling further. But anyway, have a mortgage in Japan on the one hand and a portfolio overseas on the other. That sounds like the best bet. And if you have any yen left over, sell em. Sell, sell, sell. (But I live on Shikoku and I aint no banker neither.)
  7. I like to mix it up with longish. The short little lifts at many J-resorts are a bit strange imo.
  8. I'll check that out. I think it was you who put up one or two good links during the olympics too, eh?
  9. Go leafs go... ...Kind of hard to follow NHL from Japan, unfortunately.
  10. She brought 2 pillows on a hike-in camping trip?
  11. I thought this thread was about muffin tops. The lady is too fat for those jeans.
  12. Guess so. He picks these things up from nursery school a lot.
  13. My boy just puked about an hour ago. Ie. 4:30 AM. He's back to sleep now but I'm up. We'll see if this one spreads around the family..... ARG
  14. It's not too late to answer my poll Don't worry about the original. Go down to the 6th or 7th post and click where it says 'click here'. The results are really quite stunning so far. But anyway, getting to the heart of the issue.... How long does it take before these safe, mature skiers at Okushiga track out the powder in the trees? Would they leave it all for ME?
  15. Fair game, I say. Alta sounds like a special sort of place, same with Mad River Glen. Partly coz they don't allow snowboarders maybe?
  16. Jynxx, you'd get more votes had you prevented people from seeing the results until after they voted. With only one option, you could probably get people to agree to anything, just to see how many people clicked. Let's see if that works, actually:
  17. I think they still use them for headlines, titles and names of stuff, etc. They stopped teaching it for a short time in schools 20+ years ago but then changed there mind and started teaching it again so there's a generation of kids who are around 40 years old now who have trouble with kanji, or so I've heard.
