that shot of yuuta (spinning snowboarder) is good enough for a magazine. Ianbc 2 questions: what camera did you use? what boards are in your quiver? -

i rode it with it setback as far as it would go and it felt really light and jumpy. Kind of like skimming on the pow. Real fun. Had to get used to the lack of a tail though. First couple of times I tried doing wheelies I found myself on my back! I was just looking at the nitro swallowtail - awesome looking graphics! -

I rode the 162 malolo in good pow earlier this season and it felt awesome. but then again, I like my 166 frontier (johan's board) in deep pow too...so maybe the mal felt great because it was a super day -

Montoya, what's your take on the burton malolo then? A shorter pow board with lots of taper. I was thinking of getting one for next year. on the other hand the xebio in town has an APO board (French maker) for 6man: a 185 swallow tale that just looks humongous! I can't imagine riding a lift with that on. -

kaisu ken are the best invention since sliced bread! Also if you have headphones on you can try to run from the patrol. If they catch you you can always say 'sorry, I couldn't hear you - can't you see I'm listening to my ipod?!' lol or if you're doing a run under the lifts, say that you dropped your glove on the way up and went to pick it up -

get pissed off there are no oshibori (wet towels) at restaurants before your meal. Even worse, there's no sink to wash your hands in out in the eating area at mcdonalds! -

At least HG is dying away now. I don't think I've seen him once on tv in 2006 so far. but I could be wrong...I hardly watch tv I'm just happy my students(elementary school) have stopped the pelvic thrusts

NAC ADVENTURE SHOP.
Kumapix replied to manly67's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
He's not the owner of that site since it's the snowboard division of backcountry.com. Also the stuff he was selling was from all different years so that doesn't necessarily mean he got 7 boards, 4 sets of bindings etc every year. He might have a sort of prodeal where he gets to buy the equipment he reviews for cheap. Anyways, I don't know him at all but I don't see why everyone jumped on him. We haven't even heard from the shop yet. On the other hand I don't know how anyone would buy last year's board thinking it was this year's. Do some research! -

I don't get it either. It just looks like he posted 3 gear reviews... How does that make him an unethical loser? -

that movie is awesome. Nicolas Mueller and DCP in the Hokkaido trees are awesome -
if u decide to gamble and go for the unreserved what you can do is line up with everybody and when the train arrives scan for an open doorway. ie entering via the reserved carriage and scooting through to the unreserved will get you in faster than all the sheep lining up. but that is a hardcore gaijin move...if you're up to it!

after he hit the snow lol my boys are used to jumping off 'cliffs' so they have to build up to it. It's all park jumps for them. It will prob take them til next year to start spinning off them. -

Make sure you check out the speedzone lacing on the driver x's - it's soooo good. I went for the ions myself and no regrets. As for boards, check out the Nitros. The naturals series is highly recommended and I personally swear by the suprateam (best board I have ever ridden). It's awesome in pow/park/pipe & bx. I know that makes it sound like a board for intermediates (one that does 'everything') but it is seriously that good. -

I just gotta say I love my Red Hifi. It is so light I forget I've got it on. The ear pieces are so cozy too. Definitely worth the 14000yen (minus discount)! -
