  1. Myoko to Naeba ain't too easy. I think (think!) the best way will be to get the train to Naoetsu then the Hokuhoku-sen to Echigo Yuzawa. Then you need to get to Naeba by bus or taxi.
  2. Bus to Nagano Station. Bus or train to Yudanaka. I think. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/snow-monkeys-of-jigokudani.html
  3. The wait will be over for those who need to slide. Nozawa will be opening Yamabiko area according to Nozawa Now. I won't be there but good to see the place open even if we don't have much snow yet.
  4. Ryokan Sakaya is a fine place - probably the best in Nozawa. My suggestion - first of all ask Mori-san at Sakaya and he'll point you to places you probably wouldn't find on your own. It is a small village, half the fun is walking round and finding places. Don't expect Mad Parties, it's not like that.
  5. Got! No more in stock. (But he does also have some very nice Salomon X Wing 10 @ 174cm) Thanks for the advice words
  6. It does. The nod from MikePow does it. They look cool too.
  7. That means a lot MikePow - good to get your input. I think I'll be popping on down there again tomorrow. I'll ask about the deal! Cheers!
  8. Thanks. Yes looking around now stemik. Though I really like this shop they are very helpful and I'd like to buy there actually. Seems their deal is great anyway which helps!
  9. Asked the same today and got the same response. Mind set set to different methinks.
  10. Yes I'd say so. Even the lowest slope at SK is high up there, whereas with Nozawa it goes down really low to village. Like I said though on a good day they are both awesome.
  11. Any of the fine folk on here ride Head skis? Got a good potential deal on some brand new Xenon Xi 10.0 skis and wondering what first hand experience anyone on here might have with Head (also looking at reviews online of course). The guy in the shop - who I trust - had good things to say and I have been reading some fairly positive thoughts. Edit: the deal I have is for the brand new skis and bindings waxed up and ready for 60,000 yen. Seems good to me (especially when the other shop I asked was asking 80,000 for the same). Cheers!
  12. Why are you going to be there without anywhere to stay? And you want ultra-cheap over New Year? One of the peak times? How about car parks?
  13. I would say generally Shiga Kogen. The snow can be awesome up there. As it can be in Nozawa but lots of SK is higher up. Both great.
  14. It's on the Nozawa Now page, but thought I'd just post this here... Nozawa won't be opening this weekend, not enough snow yet. Anytime after when the snow arrives.
  15. Morning. Nice here too. Alas not enough snow to open tomorrow.
  16. Looks similar to round here. Unfortunately, Nozawa not going to open this weekend.
  17. Not much doing here either. Yamabiko (top of Nozawa) has 5cm according to Nozawa Now. Nothing down low yet though.
