  1. True but (like you I'm coming from Aus) for many of us the only time to get off work and travel is the gap over New Years. And judging by previous years I don't think it is too optimistic to expect good cover over the Christmas/New Year period in Honshu. Having a look at a lot of the forecasts though it seems probable to get some sprinkles in the lead up to Christmas with heavy snow predicted on Tuesday morning....although they are exactly that - forecasts! I'm on my knees begging pretty please!!
  2. Beautiful, thanks for the reassurance guys! If it gets to the point where I'm sick of snow then I reckon I'll be quite happy!
  3. Gday all First time Japow visit coming up (only 19 more sleeps till I fly out!!), but just wondering... Getting a bit anxious with Naeba and then Hakuba as the first stops just after Christmas - is it common for the snow to start so late in Japan or is this just a really bad start for the season?? If someone has special forecasting powers and can alleviate my fears of boarding on grass that would be great! Praying for dumps of powder in the next 19 days!
  4. Hi All After seeing Myoko had a whopping 100cm of new snow the other day I'm wondering if there is any easy way to get to Myoko from Naeba in a day, rather than going back to Nagano station and getting a connection? If so, how long is the journey? Any help would be most appreciated! Cheers.
  5. Hi All I'm flying into Tokyo at the crack of dawn on the 28/12. We were originally going to Naeba straight off but have since had our accommodation cancelled! Now we are giving thought to Myoko. Can someone give me some advice as to where is best to go out of Naeba, Myoko or Yuzawa? There are 7 of us and am trying to find the easiest way to get some quality snow for 3 days immediately after flying in before heading back to Tokyo for New Years. We will be hitting up Hakuba post new years. Criteria is: Easy to get to from Tokyo Good nightlife or at least somewhere to hav
