Something curious going on this morning. On the way to work, a dude was there at a major junction on R17 with his flag (couldn't read it) and bowing to every car that went past (that's a lot of bowing). I'm not sure if he was the dude that won or whether it was something else (or he was just a week late ). He looked very sincere about his bowing though. I might have voted for him if I had known*. (* and had the right to vote).

Went up close to Hakkai yesterday ,this mountain (hope you dont mind in the thread) It looked really cool. Strange weather yesterday going from bright sun early on to very heavy rain in the evening.

The people I spoke to seem to find it annoying. They just don't do anything though and yes shikata ga nai. Anyway, it seems that the saigo no saigo made dude didn't win, which was a shame as I thought that was a great line to stand on. It seems that the guy who won was the one who stood at the main intersection waving at passers by early in the morning and whose main message was genki de isshoken mei gambarimasu. Well, I suppose if he lives up to those promises he should do a damn fine job.
