I think you can get them in japan too, cos the really cheap ones we bought in Germany came in Japanese packaging. Yes you can get them here, but only the 'Kanjers' brand. Those aren't as good as the real "Goudse Stroopwafels". Maybe something for Cheesman to try Stroopwaffles and cheese both from Gouda.
  2. Got them from the Fischer distributor straight out of the showroom for almost nothing and a good friend of mine needed a new ski badly so I gave/sold it to him for the price I paid (7000 yen!). Now I regret it almost every day.

What is US/French style grooming? I hope that it is La Grave style no grooming at all, but I guess it must be something else. Are they opening more ungroomed lines for next season?
  4. Had mine done in October and skied again in December, but in January my knee was all swollen I couldn't extend or bend my knee anymore. Had to skip the rest of the season. So don't be overzealous with getting back to the action. Take it slow to recover 100%.

I had those but sold them to a friend. cb is talking about his Atomic Powder Cruise 190 that I have too. The 185 Pro's have a 95 waist. They are quite similar to the Seth Pistols. 190 is perfect length for the trees here, but before I was skiing 194 and I found that just a tad too long to make a sudden stop.
  6. Quote: Originally posted by Toque: You're gonna have to get out skiing with us next year Sanno I'd like to, but my timing is off. Just missed you in Nozawa. I had to go back but sven had a great weekend with you. Coming winter I am planning a 2 week trip in February right through the J Alpes (Hakuba, Nozawa, Arai, Zao, Niigata with a friend. Have to do the actual planning still
  7. Yeah they're big. I have never seen anyone riding these things. Like them?
  8. Go to Germany/Austria you will see enough pretzels together with some nice hansl and gretl houses. Then you know where they come from.
  9. Being with others is more fun, but as I usually don't ski weekends I end up going by myself. I agree with Toque. I try to stay well within my boundaries when I am alone, although sometimes I make the wrong judgement and end doing stupid stuff on my own. Slowing down to overthink the situation a necessity then.
  10. 180. So 185 should be ok 190 is good 195 is great but a tad too long for easy tree skiing.
  11. Check out wunderground: http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/47707.html Or snow-forecast http://www.snow-forecast.com/maps/japan_3days.shtml Not specific for Toyama but nice variety of maps
  12. I prefer longer skis over wider skis. That's all. with my L8800 178 I can do it all but in if I need more ski/floatation I end up using longer skis than 185. I really have to force myself using them. The ski itself is fine, but I would like it a little bit longer that's all.
  13. Another thing about Pow skis. What do you like better. A ski with stiff flex or soft flex? I used to like the soft skis in combination with Raichle boots. With my stiff, new boots I can't make-up my mind.
  14. Well I have my Dynastar Legend Pro (185) from last season. I'm thinking of selling them. I am not using them enough and skiing through the mogulds with them in Nozawa wasn't fun either. I still have my Legend 8800 and my old BIGs, plus some never used Atomic Powder Cruise.
  15. 07 seems very far away on planning to buy anything. Maybe something comes up before then. But right now the Fischer BS106 rocks and the new line looks good too (much better than lime green B4s)
  16. Quote: Originally posted by Toque: I just googled it though and found that the B4 they are releasing is 94 in the waste which is what the B3 is. Then a little more searching found a waste of 98. I will have to look a little more. Held them in my hands last week in Kanda. I didn't understand already but with your explanation I understand it better. Still don't understand why they named it B4, when it isn't the real B4? Didn't like the graphics either. They also had the Salomon Swallow (195) That looked really sweet. Forgot the store name, was in a side street.
  17. 90 underfoot would be perfect for not so perfect days. If you have alot of powder wider might be better but considering possible conditions in down under and the choice of 1 pair of skis I wouldn't go too wide. Just 5 years ago a 90 would have been a fat ski, Now it is a rather average BC ski. A good choice for on and off the groomed.
  18. now I'm at 128,000 (still 1200 people with higher scores). The trick is to constantly make 360s on the flat. Forget the regular jumps unless the you to change you direction to avoid them, or if you can make a 1080-tailgrab.
  19. So you type it first in romanji, then convert it to kanji and then get to an website. sounds like you take and extra step (also looking for the right kanji out of a dozen)
  20. 100% pirated off the net. Homer with a kilt makes it sound just. I would propose that it is Homer reaching for his femine side.
  21. Or more like the original plan This looks kind of creepy to me. Maybe it better to only imagine a sunrise avatar. It will always be better than have Homer ruin it.
  22. There are many no-go area in European resorts for the same reasons Sava gives. the difference is that unless you don't do crazy things you can get away with it. This might be changing though. 10 years ago most people kept to the slopes in Europe but with more snowboarders and wider skis more and more people try to experience the powder. If this continues and casualties rise the resorts will have to do something about it, but until that happens ...
  23. It took a few hours but I made it over the 70000. I'm still crashing a lot as this is old skool freestyle skiing so no switch landings. My goal this summer: I want to be with the first 1500 (I am really bad with video games).
