  1. Aaaaahhhh Yeah snow, snow snow! and plenty of it, and plenty more to come! But I injured myself even before touchig the snow, maybe in 2 weeks time.
  2. There are some skihills within the citylimits of Stockholm, but that's not more/better than the dry slopes you find in the UK (although these are covered with snow). The temperature could be very cold, but not colder than it gets in the Alps. The main difference could be the longer dark nights. There are some resorts that are a 3 hour busride away, I forgot the names. (sorry not much of a help) You can book a weekend trip in Stockholm including bus or train.
  3. You don't have an Emmentaler cheese speed suit like the swiss alpineskiracers (used to) wear?
  4. There have been a few other games on the forum. try search
  5. I thought he was looking for a most dedicated forum posters? either way it was an easy search.
  6. powder skiing is not fun. It is life lived to the fullest! Ok the quote was longer but this is all I remebered of it.
  7. That was a good one! I needed a good laugh. Sorry I can't come up with better/worse ways to dump/get dumped.
  8. I remember a story from 15 years ago about parents skiing with children on their backs. The child had been frozen to death!!! That is scary. That was still the period that there weren't as many chairlifts so you didn't have to get them off your back to get on a chair at the end of every run (and was able to check how the child was doing) Still if you fall, you might tumble over and crush your child. I have done it once from the restaurant in Knadatsu to the parking lot. That is very flat but you can never be sure that nothing will happen.
  9. If you are bored at work and none of your friends are stalking the SJ site have a look at this. http://www.skiicon.com funny game Some nice wipe-outs And for the aussies out there check out this weeks tech news (and understand why picking up american girls will be much harder this winter).
  10. You mean Salzburger Sportwelt Amade? There are some nice lines there but it depends on where you go. As it is an accumulation of several resorts connected by bus. Zauchensee is you best bet I think. avoid Flachau (flach means flat is german and it really is flat) except for the apresski.

I know plenty of places where you can see people stumble around on skiboots clumsily clutching their skis at 2am. But more and more apres ski places close around 7pm for an hour to make sure everyone gets home and have something to eat before the take on the night routine.
  12. Well there should be enough snow right now. I thought the glacier was closed during the winter? In the summer there is usually a decent park.
