I drove up from Gunma over to Shiga Kogen then into Nagano today. Phew! very warm. Very pretty too, not sure if I'd want to pay to be on the slopes though. -

Often good, yes. They always get less than I would have guessed up there though. I went last weekend up from Gunma and had a good time. More will be open at Golden week than now though.

Less than an hour in the car and I'm at most of the resorts in Gunma and also Yuzawa. Tons of choice! -
Great idea, looking forward to hearing more. I'm not sure if I envy people working at resorts or not. I could either love it or maybe hate it with all the time shifts and everything.

I went to Kandatsu the 2nd time out and hated it. There was little to choose from and it was busy. The timing was not good either as the snow wasn't good. The next day in Iwappara was much much better, definitely beats Kandatsu for learners.
