  1. O11- Always rely on you for another angle, however acute! Similar thing am going for with the Magan Carta thing actually, going to talk about how it was more a time buying process for the King when he had no intention of actually implementing or following up on it. As far as the Public Right of Ways goes, coming from a farm back home in UK I have my own views to give on some of he issues, especially how ramblers have been known to pretty much completely ruin our crop of wheat some years ago. However am pretty sure that the speech/lecture will soon turn into a sleep time (knowing the Ja
  2. Cheers Stag, much obliged. Will check out about the Danish thing, if not interesting it will at least give me something to say for the two hours rather than the prety skinny 40mins at the mo!!
  3. This Saturday I am due to give a two hour speech on what promises to be surely some of the dullest topics ever conceived.....Public Rights of Way in the UK and the Magna Carta!! As hard as I try to link them the harder it gets. Some people say there is no such thing as a boring speech only broing speakers, however faced with such topics I have to disagree here!! I am struggling to interest myself let alone a hall full of 150 or so of Chiba`s "finest" minds!! The Magna Carta topic as unsexy as it is has at least some amount of interesting points but the former topic.......???
  4. Where abouts is that? Easy access by car? Am in Gifu area next weekend for a party and may check it out sunday as a mate wants to learn how to board and it may be good to start him early before i get too frustrated wanting to go elsewhere when it all opens!!

  6. Depends which schnapps there`s all sorts, apple schnapps, brandy schnapps....actually I remember having a horribly filthy night on Brandy schnapps when at uni, doesn`t leave you feeling so nice in the morning. Typical crimble drink round my home
  7. I agree O11 people should do things on all levels, and starting close to home is a good way. For anyone wanting any more info on Ogasawara (also called Bonin Islands since American occupation) check out Bonin Islands or more detailed info in Japanese about the Kaiyo Centre at http://bonin-ocean.net
  8. Quote: Working with local politicians...more productive than working with animals who have been around far longer than us without our help.. True O11 working with Politicians, etc may also improve things, the fact is that the animals have been around longer than us but it is us that is killing them off, and there is a concerted effort needed by all parties and in all areas!! Animals also need a leg up every now and then as its our stupidity and recklessness that has put them in a position where they can`t help themselves any longer. For those interested in Ogasawara: I was part of a vol
  9. It is sad but you can do things about it also! This summer i took part in an ecological project on Ogasawara Islands abdout 1000km south of Tokyo where I worked with Green Turtles and Hawksbill Turtles. Not only was it doing something to help the planet, but also probably one of the greatest summer s I have ever had, met loads of new people, went diving nearly every day and the island is the most beautiful place I have been to. With many endemic species it was really interesting. I am going back in March for some time to work with Humpback Whales. Bring it on!! So get off your asses and
  10. Eco Bra reminds me of an idea I had at Uni. "BAB PANTS"tm. Its the end of a night and you are at a nightclub/union, you have pulled the girl you have been ridiculously dancing with all night but there is a seriuos decison to be made, do you A- Go to buy that much needed end of night feast the Kebab and lose the girl as she strolls off unable to wait in the horribly long ques at the van whilst it rains, or do you B- Take the girl home and miss put on that institution that is the Kebab after booze dinner!!!!???? Well now you can have both BABPANTS, edible kebab underwear, "Chew through the Bab
  11. Once went qas a coffin back home. Was when I was underage and went on a pub crawl, one of the bouncers questioned my age and asked for ID, I just pointed to the epitaph on my coffin with dates of 1890-1960, he found it sufficently funny enough to let me in!!
  12. Now not only Superman can use his Xray vision!!!! Check this story out!! Vodafone in row over 'peeping tom' phone cameras THE world's biggest mobile phone company was embroiled in a row last night over an “X-ray” mobile camera attachment that allows peeping toms to see through clothes. Vodafone is deeply unhappy about a new infrared “night filter”, made in Japan, which is fitted to its phones and causes skirts, trousers, shirts and blouses to melt away. Users said it is particularly effective on dark bikinis. Dubbed the “pervert filter”, the device is made by a Fuk

  20. Dear all SJ members and friends. Recently a close friend of mine has gone missing whilst in the ski area of Chamonix, France. Some believe that he has unfortunately fallen into a local river and drowned yet we have no body as of yet to confirm this and it has been a sufficently long time to question this theory. This is a request for help to anyone who is planning to travel to the Ski regions in Europe, or even know of friends who are over there or are going over. If you could take the time and trouble to visit Blake Hartley-Missing Person His family and friends and I would appre
  21. I have just had my first real encountert with the infamous Japanese Yakuza. About 3 months ago I rented some video`s (3) from a local small rental shop. At the saem time I also moved appartments and unfortunately put said videos in a box to be moved. 3 months later I have a "debt collection" agaency ringing up not only me but also the school I work in. They are asking for 10man yen in late fees. I called them up refusing to pay more than 3man, and after much arguments on the phone they settled on 6man???? Does this mean they haven`t got a leg to stand on legal in demanding the money??
  22. Never been able to find any, where are the one`s in Tokyo?
  23. Still in Japan and loving the summer holidays. In Ogasawara, an Island 26hours south of Tokyo by ship (there is no airport) ,and working at the marine centre with Green Turtles whilst getting in as much free diving and awsome surf as possible in these crystal clear blue warm waters!!! Certianly don`t want to go back to work proper in a month and halfs time!! Still enjoy the work and stinking heat all you stuck on mainland!!
  24. Lewis mate!! What a surprise!! All good bro, Ogasawara rocks, hard work with the turltles on my first night of an all nighter with hourly laying checks, (not that kind of laying either!).
