  1. Yes I like all the features More to play with Definitly competition though Even with just BC skiers hitting the snow this weekend all the runs had more than few tracks on them
  2. Didn't take any pictures. Should have but didn't I walked off the ski track to pee and sank in up to my waste. The snow was pretty light as well. Didn't even ball up on the bindings The ski down was so good. I got a little air off some pillows and stumps. Would have gone for another but my comrades were sore from their first real day out Vancouver and Victoria are even getting snow Crazy cause it's only November
  3. I just got back from skiing the deepest November turns I have ever had Went up to Whitewater again for some more. Loads of people up there skinning around. Probably 30-40 cars. People are in need of a fix

  5. There are 2 ways to get to that pass Either from Hirayu side or from Hounoki side I did some backcountry skiing in that area a couple years ago. Pretty flat. Although there are some fun runs on the Hounoki side. Doesn't get a lot of snow though You're just going to have to wait Which is a good thing
  6. It's going to get down to -18 by Monday That's ****in cold
  7. Searched my pictures I have loads of shots of everything else in that area except the ski hill I summited Kasa 3 times out of 6 attempts and not one shot directly across the valley
  8. Sounds like this was an off year then SnowConnection Still isn't an excuse for the lack of SJers going though
  9. The gondola should let you on with ski gear. As long as you say you are not skiing back down the old ski runs. They shouldn't be able to stop ski-mountaineers which would be the people going up higher. It's not somewhere to learn how to ski in the backcountry. Those are big mountains with huge avy runouts. In spring 2004 I skinned up one of the runs in April. Was kind of fun but that was a long time ago before I demanded more from a backcountry trip
  10. Quote: Originally posted by slow: Is this the place there is a very nice free rotenburo by the river? Yes it is Slow TTT the Godola drops you off about 30 minutes below a ridge. From the ridge you could hike into Kamikochi I'd just stick to resort dude
  11. The ski hill blows goats Pretty good access to the big mountain of Hotaka for a real mountaineer
  12. That was a sad but humerous time for us all I remember hoisting more than a couple beer Canada is doing well Coast mountains are getting a lot As we can see with the shot that Ian had of Whistler Not so much in the Kootenays but it'll come Whitewater has to delay it's opening a week. But there is 80cms at the mountain so thats a start
  13. Nobody has answered my question What is going to happen if I don't wax my skis and the base dries out Lets say over the summer I do like wax in the winter. Spring and summer I'd rather go without though for touring reasons.

  16. No but really What is going to happen if my bases dry out? Ski break in 2 P-tex peal off Nothing but just going slow
  17. What's the big deal with the bases drying out What's going to happen I'm very much anti-tune so I'd like to know what to expect
  18. Yah you are looking at about 5 hours Takasu -> Hakuba Rico you are about the first person that wants to come to Japan to ride park Sad indeed
  19. You will definitly have to get your ski legs back Even though you might want to go hard the first coule days it's always best to keep them short I don't think I ever got my resort legs last year. Even in March a day of deep powder in resort was difficult

  21. Look what happens I leave the country and everybody gets all lazy I'm sad for you guys although the thought of seeing any more Tateyama pictures has me wanting to vomit
  22. Interesting indeed Lucky cows in the UK We have free range for the most part in Canada but there are still large feedlots where they are fattened up before the journey to the slaughter house
  23. I don't live where I ski It's about 30-60 minutes to the resorts So it's 6 sleeps till I'm on the snow next Would be 5 but school on Saturday
