  1. What about all those priests that are in general doing a whole lot of good, whose lifes work go unnoticed and who've never touched children, women or a drop of alchohol. Akibun, why don't you try this. SOME people are evil, SOME people are good. Simple really.
  2. So would I be right in assumng these two resorts are joined and share passes as I read on a review from last year? That hasn't changed has it? Anyone got any advice on the best resort to buy a pass for in Hakuba, I'm there from 28th Dec to 2nd Jan, and am up for anything......staying in Hakuba Goyru. I know my timing ain't the best but I'd prefer fewer crowds.
  3. Because I find it patronising. Don't you think it would be a better idea for him to intiate some tangible developments in Iraq, such a handing over power to the UN or Iraqis and pulling US trops out? Rather than pulling cheap trick to get people on his side. It was a nothing act in my opinion, just used to show he 'cares'. I notice he wasn't meeting too many Iraqi citizens......hmmm I wonder why.
  4. Just when you think he can't do anything worse, George W takes being a vapid moron to a higher level. What a publicity stunt he has just pulled. "Yeee-haaa I'm gomg to Iraq and gonna hand out some turkeys to our boys." Does anyone find this the most transparent publicity stunt they've ever seen. So patronising. Maybe he should think visiting the moon next time.
  5. Would I be right in suggesting that of the cases that go to trial in Japan some really high percentage like 90% are found guilty? I'm sure I read that somewhere.
  6. Best of luck to England today! Hope you give the Aussies a good stuffing, the 'Pommie Bashing' that has gone on down under has been pretty disgracful. They seem to want to win by fair or by foul means. So on behalf of my Celtic bretheren: "Swing low sweet chariot!" Come on England
  7. Quote: So the effigy is down and the demonstrators have demonstrated. The evil empire is still evil. Huh, the world doesn't feel much different to me. So what was the point of all that? Possibly one of the most short sighted and fundementally naive posts I have EVER read. What is the point in protest: It does change things. For example the Suffrogetes(sp), Emily Pankhurst, equality in the USA UK etc, Vietnam blah blah blah. It is fun. It is your right as a citizen of a democratic nation, though sometimes this is blurred. But hay you could just go with the flow and maintain
  8. I recommend the antithesis of swing low... You can stick your ****ing chariots up your arse You can stick your ****ing chariots up your arse You can..... (sung to the tune of "She'll be Coming Round the Mountain when she comes.....") or Bread of Heaven, Sospan Fach, Delilia, Flower of Scotland. all far Superior rugby songs
  9. certainly NOT New Zealand....! Talk about chokers! Only kidding they were the best team to watch in the tournament and deserved at least a final showdown against England. As for who'll win it,well I'm supporting the English for the first time in my life...."swing low sweet chariot" ....ahem. I couldn't stand to see Australia win another world cup, they win to much stuff anyway.
  10. Talisker I presume ur talking about the play-off vs Holland.....Scotland did well didn't they, but I fear a hiding in Amsterdam! As for Wales, well we managed a wonderful 0-o draw in Moscow....if all goes well ALL the home nations apart from N Ireland could be in Euro 2004!
  11. right u are Kamo! Please from now on only colour coded maps for me.....I'm a bit thick u see. Besides it does bring up a good point, should Turkey be allowed to join the EU? It'll be the only muslim contry in it,have the secound biggest population, increase the ethnic diversity, challenge the "christian" values that the EU designates as its official grounds for moral guidance and last but not least let us (EU citizens) bring back loads more cheap fags and booze when we go on holiday!
  12. Feast your eye's on what?! That map suggests that all of Turkey is in Europe, which is rubbish, Turkey like Russia is partly Europe and partly Asia, even if they do join the EU!!!!! That's the problem with imposing set paramiters....
  13. Yes I was rather pleased with the Welsh boys! But I would've liked a win (though we were expecting a whooping). New Zealand on that performance ain't gonna win nuffink! Sorry guys, maybe Wales can knock the English out for you!
  14. Quote: > if stirred (via the wonderful tabloid press) people are capable of completely disproportionate reactions to an event. Or a phenomenon. I reckon you've been stirred good and proper Mr Matthews. It was hardly a phenomenon.....the type of reactionary flag waving drivel that happened after her death was just the sort of sh't that happened when The Sun, in all their genius, decided to publish the names of all the pedophiles in the UK. Some pediatrician got his house stoned and he was dragged out on his arse! "Well it yrghh sevrves him right for yrghh messing round with childre
  15. You think she was 'reet pretty'? I always thought she looked a bit dim and trampled on. As for 'serving the people poorly' I'd suggest that she worked a damn sight harder than many other 'royals' in other countries. Basically after her divorce she didn't have to do any of the 'charitable work' she did so she must've enjoyed it. It seems unlikely Ocean, that you've ever been disadvantaged, except perhaps being a bit too cynical for your own good. Thus you simply can't grasp the notion of 'hope' which Diana brought to lots of marginalized and disadvantaged people throughout the world.
  16. If you're into 'spining big air' and the park go for a smaller board. If you enjoy the whole mountain try a bigger one. Smaller boards are more flexible and easier to move around once you've passed the remo stage, while bigger boards are less flexible but give you more security and control when you're motoring a touch. My opinion, everyone has one....I learnt on a 156, learning to carve on a smaller board is a benefit in the long run.
  17. I've only got a sec to stir this almighty pot. But you've missed a big sticking point. The education your reffering is of formal sort!? What about informal education. We've already been informed on MANY different areas of life before we even go to school via family and the media..... I agree with db, my spelling teacher was crap, so crap she didn't exist! Plus what about what we lear after leaving 'formal' educational institutions?
  18. I found it extra confusing with all the Japanese which, though I DID try, I failed to understand. Plus the fact that it was a tacky mess of a film. He was trying to include a load of bogus iconography, like her yellow suit, the winter garden fight scene etc. It didn't work. The whole point of Tarintino's other films was unique way he jiggled his narrative, but Kill Bill was an over stylised , bloated mess! HE was trying to pay homage to his favourite Japanese 'ultra violence' 70's film maker....which I found noble, but then again quite self indulgent at times! Vol 2....no
  19. Wales are in the quarter finals. Next stop New Zealand.
  20. Well the size of the US contribution and the continuing cost of military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan suggest that America more than anyone else is 'paying for it'. More of a concern to me is the fact that Congress has turned down proposals of a $87 billion grant toward the military and rebuilding of Iraq Afghanistan and wants to convert about $40 billion into a loan (my figures maybe a little out). That is unless other countries write off the debt that Iraq owes them from Saddams regime. If those countries write off that debt, why not the rest of the third world countries already c
  21. Looks like NZ are trying to run up a ton against the Tongans.....91-7 last time I looked. Puts the Welsh and Italian performance in perspective.
  22. MDMA, is that some kind of fancy new brand of tea? Seriously, getting out of bed has becom a real challenge, all snug and warm and out pop my toes and the misery of getting ready to go to work begins. Getting out of the shower is worse....it's like being back in Wales!
  23. Think I've got one. Is it a kind of heater on the underside of the table? I can't figure it out, and I've been trying to pull the table top off but I'm scared of breaking it! Someone please advise me, I'm sad and cold in the mornings..... " title="" src="graemlins/cry.gif" />
  24. It's funny you should say that....I found (a shared experience via talking to friends) that going to University there was always a 'Rugger Bugger' group of lard brains hated by the rest of the University. I took great pride in abstaining from the team.....their loss, my silky skills would've resulted in a few more wins I bet! I used to play school and club rugby in Wales, the violence was mostly on the pitch....not in the bar! I truly disliked a number of the fat arse "Rugby Players" in my Uni.....To make matters worse they were sh't as well.
  25. Union, as League scrums are uncontested, thus the need to "grind your chin into the other guys ear" doesn't exist. So Ocean how did you get these scars you mentioned in the other thread? And I do agree that SOME rugby teams are organised mobs, I've watched enough Valleys teams to say that some people just want a fight, not a game of rugby. But at least in rugby you get on the pitch and do the fighting not in the stands!
