Made a great curry last night. And some garlic naan bread as well. It was more bread-y than naan-y, but still very good. Even if I say so myself!

Cloudy. Light rain here.

Good movies you've seen recently

I saw that too recently. I know what you mean with the 'strange one' comment, I wasn't expecting that when it came on. -

Not being able to fully open today and yesterday won't help with those numbers of course. -
Hey I was told that today is the start of "Cool Biz" at work, and it seems in Japan generally as well. So no necktie is necessary. But, get this, 1st June is the start of "Super Cool Biz" when we can wear t-shirts and sandals apparently. Is there a "Super Duper Cool Biz" in July when we can wear shorts? Funny the way they have fixed dates, got to chuckle.

It has been hot outside today here, about 25/26. I can believe much hotter elsewhere. Hot where you are?

Was Godzookie a creation of the original Godzilla people or just some shameful rip off thing going on?

Actually that's not a joke, I heard about people in Minamiuonuma who were enjoying bear soup after killing one!

I bet they just wanted some bear soup.

I just saw that Kagura has been closed today due to strong winds. Knowing how busy it gets at this time of year, and hearing that the last few weekends the car park has been 'full' -- wondering just how much this means to the resort in terms of business lost. Must be a fair big wad of cash. Playing with nature for your business must be a stressful business at times.

I see NHK is leading tonight with yet another earthquake prediction 'upgrade'..... all 23 Tokyo wards to be shindo 6 and above in latest predictions. Sounds like fun. -

Snow tyres
joshnii replied to muikabochi's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
There was a queue at the local stand today, I think they were for tyres. Wonder why all at once... was it announced on the tv or something? -
When 'we have stock' means 'we don't have stock'

Worth noting that I will always leave positive feedback as well when things go well. -
When 'we have stock' means 'we don't have stock'

I have experienced that before on Amazon Marketplace. I didn't cancel though as they were a fair bit cheaper than an alternative, but I know what you mean it can be frustrating. A bit 'bait and switch' kind of thing hey. I did get to give them a very bad review on their page though, carefully crafted by my Japanese friend. -
nagano 7 ways to come down a ladder
joshnii replied to hellyer's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Don't have to go down the hill, perhaps, but you have to be lucky. And seeing them chill out in the onsen is pretty cool. -

Baked beans as the main meal at the reception might have been a mistake! -
Not enough that's for sure. Probably about 7 on average.
