Certain elements of society here enjoy a free ride because of historic social injustices against their group, the city I live has large number of them. I could bet my house on it tha
  9. thanks for the report, looks like a good day out, crampon-less Dan must have felt a tad vulnerable up there though.
  10. Judging by the time of your post I would say it was this one at 1:45 AM. 4-5 on the J-scale just north of Tokyo in Ibaraki, thats a decent shake! and it wasnt that big up your way Soub! you must be sensitive! You Kants and Tohukus can have all the earthquakes you want and keep them out of Kansai! that would be nice. 4 (4) / 3.5-4.4 Many people are frightened. Some people try to escape from danger. Most sleeping people awake. Hanging objects swing considerably and dishes in a cupboard rattle. Unstable ornaments fall occasionally. Electric wires swing considerably. People wa
  11. my Golden week was pretty miserable....friday - 5 hours at the hospital, Sat all day at the hospital, Sunday at home, Monday at home, Tuesday at home (though did squeeze a small hike in in the arvo)......all three other members of my family had rotavirus infections, it was haku/geri city. The youngest had 2 days on a drip at the hospital. Golden week? more like Geri week for me. I was healthy but a nurse for 5 days....I was glad to get back to work today! ( but not glad to have to share my train with the Z.I.S [Zombies in Suits] I thought GW might have refreshed them but they were back as Zo
  12. just watched "sunshine" pretty fruity title but a pretty decent sci-fi thriller none the less, quite thought provoking, reminded my of "Event horizon" (less horror though) and also it's very much like 2001 A space Odyssey. I am on quite a movie crusade at the moment! one a night - it's great!

  17. Capoeira style parkour! that a new angle on urban running, pretty cool. The video below is one of the most view of all time on new tube. 2 years and 21 million hits. its a guy called the "urban ninja" His style is "kung-fu gymnastic"
  18. Andrea de Crasheris? He didn't finish too many races did he? awful lot of "Ret" in his career chart. You wonder how someone with such a mediocre career managed to last so long. In he mid 90's there was Ukyo Katayama who had an equally mediocre career. He became a folk-hero on a weekly sports chat show in NZ called 'TAB sports cafe', they finished their weekly round up of the news with Katayama crashing, it was their running joke and he obliged by providing plenty of content.
