  1. no, he's just a hollywood scientologist giving a little "Eff-You" to the majority of non-scientologists.
  2. made the mistake of venturing into a beach cave in izu.... shined a flashlight on the cave wall, and they were crawling with those mukade, or something that looked equally gross.
  3. Used to deliver pizzas in high school. Best pirks were oven-fresh pizza whenever you wanted and grabbing all the leftover pies at the end of the day. My car and clothes stank of pizza sauce after a a day of work though. In terms of tips, the size of the house was inversely proportional to the size of the tip (with the exception of large deliveries). Had a buddy who worked at a Burger King for a while back in the day. He used to just sell food to customers without using the register, and pocket the money. Got away with it until he quit!

  5. lmao. C'mon... everyone knows "a slow, low-heat burn yields the highest 'fernos'."
  6. bm- I have the same problem. I go through phases when I feel like I'm kicking-butt and can understand and communicate well, but there are still times where due to lack of vocabulary and inability to think fast enough to comprehend rapidfire conversation, I'll totally lose everything said...
  7. db is a big whiner... There's no "girl vacuum." I've seen him get hit on at clubs by chicks..... and dudes.
  8. Crap! Crap! Crap! Rainy, cold.... not-summerlike at all. Today is the first decently hot day all summer. This is in Tokyo btw....

I just saw him on the news this morning meeting with Koizumi! Dims - I've only half-assed searching for a jujitsu dojo on the internet, but I do plan to get moving by this fall... I'll deff let you know if I find one.
  10. I always go for the "sono mama de ii desu." Regardless, I still manage to accumulate a ton of plastic at home and at my office. Japan is in love with super packaging. What's up with boxes/bags of cookies and snacks that are individually wrapped (omiage not included). what a waste!
  11. Hey buddy... hope we see you back on this side of the globe this season or sometime soon.... and good luck with school brova!
  12. ha ha ha! Any story that involves mushroom picking and judo bouts with animals gets two thumbs up in my book.
  13. KB- True... I hear what you're saying. Playing the devils advocate though... the BBC is not owned by an american corporation, so how would you argue that the long reach and influence of american newsmedia is directing coverage?
  14. Sounds like alot of whining to me.... If you don't like seeing US news coverage, then don't watch CNN. simple.
  15. This regionwide blackout smells awefully fishy to me.... I wouldn't be surprised if the scandal is revealed in time.....
  16. Looks like there's no end to the reality crap in America... They just started a new all-reality tv network: Reality Central I was home a few weeks back, and had a chance to catch a few of these gems of contemporary entertainment... I saw commercials for a spinoff of "who wants to marry a millionare," entitled Who wants to marry my Dad . There's also a show called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy which is a show where a group of gay dude's remake a straight guy and fix up his house/apt, I caught one show and it was admittedly pretty funny/entertaining. Bravo tv networ
  17. Yea, i've seen ai nori too. That show's not bad at all... Maybe a little sappy, and too much crying, but still pretty good. I saw an episode of Blackmail where this girl sets up her boyfriend by ketai mailing him messages from a separate email address, posing as an old high school classmate, to arrange a date. The unsuspecting guy goes to some restaurant for the date, and eventually starts talking about going to a hotel.... so the ex-classmate girl goes to the bathroom, and the girlfriend comes back to the table dressed in the exact same outfit... the guy's reaction was priceless. Makes y
  18. I think Japan has it's fair shair of reality shows too. I really dig that show "Blackmail" tho. It's hosted by London Hearts, and they basically set people up in scams, and then rag on them at the end of the show... anyone seen it?
  19. Taekwondo is a korean martial art, and yea I think its mostly about kicking, but I don't think it's known to be a very strong or useful style in "real world" situations. I'm still looking for a ju-jitsu school in tokyo, and it seems like ju jitsu dojos are rare in japan.... weird being that this is where it comes from! I'm now thinking about trying "shooto" or shootfighting which is supposedly a modern day ju jitsu... dunno yet though. either that or just join a regular gym....
  20. Cheesman... I just wonder at 400+ posts exclusively regarding cheese, do you ever get tired of talking about one thing, and one thing only?
  21. I love the lyrics to "Tangled up in Blue" by Bob Dylan...
  22. I'm right on the border of Ebisu-nishi and Daikanyama. 10 min walk from shibuya station or ebisu station.
  23. I think the ramen you're talking about it tonkotsu ramen. I think they make the broth by throwing a bunch of pig bones, and knuckles into a big pot and boiling it forever.... I've been in those joints, and yea... they stink! The ramen tastes good, but the one time I ate it, it left a stank on my lip that took a day to wash off.
  24. the image of her ex-boyfriend appeared: I had it right then and there, so I smashed the tv against the wall, and turned around to see that Svenlda was about to...
