Im not a boarder but knowning many buddies and buddets, the split board has been around for more the 8 years and they are getting better. They are popular in Canadas Back Country places like Whitewater and Golden area. Are they good for the hardpack no they arent but thats not the purpose of them now is it. Soft snow whether it be spring or pow. They take lots of time off long climbs, side slipping is much easier than boot backing it up waist deep snow.

Norikura offered a real cheap lift pass last year so that people didnt climb up the mountain without paying that couldve been half the problem. Most land is leased by the govt as happens anywhere in the world. -

Dnyland has alot but I wont tell you why because then the secrect is out. I fyou go and look around youll figure it out. Next, the roads leading there suck. The free road is one lane and best accessed at night if you dont youll be caught in a big jam. Same goes with the One Lane Highway PAYWAY. They are still doing consrtuction and will be for a long time to come, making the othere 2 lanes. Give it 5 years and it wil be good. I go from Kyoto in a car and if anyone wants to hook up there is good BACK COUNTRY and well I have to show you. -

Say it loud say it proud buy a car. There are so many things you can do. Camping hiking kayaking skiing. You can find car parks at around 10000 yen if you look. Maybe not in the heart of the city. I got lucky with free parking. Good landlords but seriously it costs a little more sometimes but you save time a sometimes have a bed if you get there early. Ill pick up anyone on the way as long as I have room. Minami Kyoto kara -

Kicking horse.. formerly whitefish Sunshine after opening d-dive terrain. Witerwater Red Smithers Shammes Baldy Manning park Out of Bounds. Best Western Glacier National Park Sun Peaks Big White The list goes on and on each mountain has something a little different. Fernie Rocks The Auzies have been there for 10 years and we cant stop them. They are there until they spend their money and go home. Now that Currie bowl is lift acessed You can still hike lots of other areas. BAckside frontside fish and the bowl next to it. Hike past Juniper bowl also. With out the p -

Thanks for the info. I love the interior and I am tring with my wife to buy a house we are thinking Golden kicking horse and Glaicer national park are well cant be put into words or Fernie. Fernie is cheaper but there is less work too. aS FOR THE OB I was rather lucky to ski with friends who new what they werre doing plus a good active patrol digging pits like crazy and envoling the locals. I still believe that Whistler and interior mountains which I like better offer more than you can get anywhere in Japan. Japan just doesnt open steep bowls with cliffs. -

Higuma who are you cnd or Japanese. You know some stuff about the the interior. Me I bummed in Sun peaks good paying jobs was the reason. But friends lived in Whitewater and Fernie. Just wondering where you put in your time. As for quailty freaky girl yeah it counts but so does vertical, steepness, trendsetting, partying amount of snow and terrain avliable. Canada has it all on the cheap for now. -

Shop around You can find lots here for a good price. Clothes I hate to always tout Alpen but I got the full set up last year for under 12000 for jacket socks pants and gloves. I buy skis but I know if you buy last years gear you can shave a lot off the price. Also dont be afraid to ask ne Biki deki masuka discount please. Sometimes you need to get their store card and then you get 15% off. Best advice dont buy everthing on 1 day shop around and do some research into what you want. I bet I could gear up with 75000 easy.
