Run your own resort!
Fattwins replied to Ocean11's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Ocean Im so happy you remembered. Yes they are targeting (cortina) familes now. 2 years ago they had 3 massive jumps in a row, rails and a members program for sking the trees. There has been no real news as to why they stopped the program, other than they are tring to get families. I would hope they figure out that by opening those trees it wont effect families at all. Now to answer the question of resorts. First you need to figure out what customers you want. Arai blew it on this and has now closed 1/3 of its hotel spa. They advertise as a powder resort but that hotel costs a fortune. Po -

You five star freak wonder how you got those eh. I was wondering that too but it looks like Dynalands web site is a bit under construction. -
Man you people. How many people here would'nt ride with a bud just because they skied or rode a board. If so you are missing the point. The point is so pure and so simple, enjoy the mountain and its pleasures. I for one like to ski with people who can push me to be better, in a lot of cases those people ride. When Im sking across the flats (ie Cortina) and I see a boarder struggling then I tow them, why because I want them to enjoy the mountains, and maybe make someones day better. I belive any resort that doesnt allow boarding or in the future sking is missing the point.

The full floating sensation, when it happens right you just feel this sense of not being attached to earth. There is no drug that can come close to the feeling. -

Fattwins replied to klingon's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Moguls are made by everyone not just skiers. whether they are left to get ig is another thing. rider traffic down the mountain creates little mounds of snow that build into turning ruts or moguls. Science -

Talk to the guy/gal in the shop you dont have to buy 165s you can go a bit longer if you want to. If you get better than you might want new gear. The new equip is aesy to learn on nowadays. Do a little looking around. -

Size is shorter but the skis are fatter and this makes the difference. Most powder skis are no longer than 190 nowadays. Do a little research via the web.
