This has shocked our little community here, I guess it's the kids welfare & how they will survive that everyone is worried about. Unfortunately, it is always the tourists, both from OZ (country areas) & abroad. They just don't understand the powerful beasts that the rips are. Another father drowned between Xmas & New year whilst swimming with his son at the beach on the opposite side of the river after getting caught in the rip. Now people are calling for more patrols, but the fact is that it occurred outside of patrol hours anyway.

Mantas, a little crept in yesterday am only 2-3 ft. I saw Merewether on the news last night and was frothing for the early. This morning, a perfect morning except the swell hasn't come to the party! 2-3ft.. arghhhhhhh.

GN, I hate to say that once you get your PRv nothing will change besides the stamp in your visa. On the flip side, it's been great to see how accepted my wife has been into the aussie culture and people don't think of her as Japanese (which is good because of this silly sea shepherd crap)
