  1. Over summertime here now in OZ, too dark for a real early surf and can't wait until they flick the switch in a week!
  2. I am happy that they have the cameras, mainly for skype, who would want to take pics with an iPad anyway???

  5. I have done a lot of research and testing and I am going to splurge on the Canon 7D. If in Japan you can get a body & 15-85 lense for 150,000K from Amazon on kakaku.com

  7. Cool. My little fella is on a 5'6 kid fish. I can get boards from the local shapers after the Jnr riders are done with them. Will try before we buy but like you am dangling that carrot before the custom comes along! More importantly, I need a new board for myself if we are going to get all these swells.

I'm trying to keep him on the PU board as long as possible but I think it won't be long..
  9. Had a few waves over the weekend. The point wasn't really working & when size increased winds weren't good. Headed to Byron to let my little one have a surf and I got a few gems. Almost had my head taken off by a longboarder but that's Byron for you! Some good pics http://www.coastalwatch.com/news/article.aspx?articleId=8458&display=0&cateId=3& Panhead, What/who is your friend training?

A few years ago it was like 20% full. Now it´s beyond capacity and letting it out. Seeing vids of how much water the dam is releasing is unbelievable. They must be glad they built that. I heard that it was at 187-185%. Imagine if it wasn't there.
  11. more sad news but how was this boy's courage?

  15. We are in Lennox Head, which is an hour south of the QLD border. It has pretty much been raining since the September school holidays. Seriously, almost every frikkin day. I would hate to a mum having the kids at home these holidays! The rivers are holding up ok but all that rain from north has to go somewhere. Haven't had a good fish in ages, or surf for that matter JA, there is some flooding on the Pacific HWY by passing Ballina , nothing major but enough to hold everything up.
  16. Cricket is great to watch. If ya team can make it through a session without getting all out!
  17. watched Knight & Day. Enjoyed it, not really hard to watch Ms Diaz for a few hours!

As long as we can have a surf I don't mind. The weather we have up here though is rain rain rain at the mo and getting a bit boring being home bound.

  21. Japan lacked good bacon. It was paper thin.. You guys complaining about sausages, go to a brazilian shop and you will get great ones (made by Brazilians though). We found a few great foreign restaurants , Thai & especially Mexican but generally were to Japanese tastes. But then again, some Japanese places here are pretty crap too. We went to a Teppanyaki restaurant last week and cooked in sukiyaki nabe! & they served the Miso about 20 mins before the food! Hanging for Yakiniku...
  22. Same Wiggs. I used to my own shaken and they never once look inside the car!
  23. City of God. was pretty good. Also watched Happy Gilmore with the kids on sat.. now wishing I didn't as they are copying all the fart jokes!
