  3. Freako! relax about the trails mate! I reckon if you worry too much about if you are on "those" tracks you could cause yourself some stress!! Sounds like you have a few weeks there, hang out at bars etc meet a few crew and you will find....
  4. hmmm, NO WAX? okashi jyanai desuka? just keep the back foot down so that your nose isn't diving and you should be right! with all this money you have been spending you havent had a wax yet? get it done soon!
  5. Db, snow can be good, Crowds suck! (weekends) From where you are Nag is a way better option. I live close to gifu but prefer to go to Hakuba Joetsu areas due to the wider selection and better trails. just my opinion...
  6. Just had 4 wonderful days in Niseko. Friend was going to a resort that I don't really like (yabuhara) but it has some nice wall to carve and hit and smoe small spots to build kickers. Practise a few tricksetc BUT damn it was ICY!!! I am sure the tree's that my mates hit in Niseko didn't hurt as much as the ICE! I am shaking for POW....
  7. Markie, If I come for dinner will you bring some nice HK ladies (preferably school girls?)
  8. freak, like the goose says you can get it there, also don't sweat about the run names!! just find the freshies (plenty) and you will have your own gold! I had ridden Hirafu 2wice before last weeks trip, and never new a name of a run! A mate of mine told me where Tetsu's, Stawb's etc tec was and to my frikkin delight I had been riding those spots all along! They are pretty easy to find bro! you are a lucky bast ard! i am having pow withdrawls!
  9. Db, believe me if you think thats good wait for a good day! Arai kicks its a ss espesh 3 BC. wait till it really starts snowing again mate!
  10. Quote: Originally posted by db: beer and surfing isn't an interest, it is a lifestyle. In eikaiwa's across japan some students would call it a hobby! (if sleeping and driving is then.....!!!)
  11. Db, the thought process starts with the sucking air thru the teeth then a head tilt before the "eeeehhhhhh chotto muzukasi"!!! I like you love to add fuel to fire after this occurs! so predictable NE!
  12. Thats right, yes we are spoiled here and compared to OZ the price is fairly reasonable (except highways!) Thats why in Oz I surf all year, only hit the mountains a few times a year.. still can't feel my legs!!!
  13. yep, got my chrissy wishes for the next few years! Unfortunately now Hakuba/Gifu/ Niigata regions are gonna suck due to being spoiled too much! maybe I will just not go boarding for 5 days and hop up there again in feb!
  14. Spent the last 4 days @ Niseko hirafu. snowed about 20cm each day and the trees were much deeper! Peak runs were insane with snorkel being needed most days! Managed to stay off the runs beside getting to the bottom of the gondola for 4 days in the POW! Didn't have to line up once for lifts. Was pretty deserted! and it was dumping when we left!!! Insane!
  15. Off to Niseko tomorrow! after reading the report for today on nisekohirafu.com am amped! Later folks...
  16. Markie, I've worn a japanese High schools skirt and loose socks..
  17. nekobi....thats if you come from US or canada. OZ its a different story...
  18. Andrew, yes I am in japan as my profile will tell you! 7300 Yen semms pretty standard for accom, Brekkie and dinner. You wont get much cheaper unless you cook your own food and stay at a place like snowbeds etc.
  19. The Arai report seems to be more of a weather report rather than a snow report! It opened on the weekend and there wasn't even a mention of it!!! The English and wording also seems to be a tad bit strange! Is is translated from japanese using translating softo??
  20. but if you book the plane a month or so in advance its about 10,000 each way!
  21. any snow is good, but a nice smooth groomed run that is not icy would be best. Steer clear of the powder until you have some kind of board skills otherwise you will spend ya day diggin out! and spoiling our freshies!!!
