  1. Perhaps we could have a meet at Wada Toge next season. Shock and scare the staff!
  2. I used to get the Guardian - the famous "written on public toilet bog roll" publication. I think the Telegraph has one too. I don't know any others.
  3. This may not be the most in, but I like the Linkin Park album. Good mix of rap/grungy guitars/electric sound. Check it out!
  4. Topic seems to have developed into a gaijin discussion, which is interesting in itself. There seem to be 2 main extremes in my experience - the gaijin who lives in an almost completely gaijin-environment (expat guys and gals), and the gaijin who hardly ever meets another gaijin, living in a rice field in Akita (or somewhere just as beautiful). In my (admittedly limited) experience, the former has few Japanese contacts and so is the more friendly customer. The latter is the one immersed in Japan, so feels strange when he/she sees another gaijin in "his" territory. Anyone else
  5. Where does "scouser" come from and does it actually mean anything? Anyone tell me?
  6. Not that my nihongo is good enough, but I have taken a look over some Japanese sites and they seem frankly a mess. Lots of the BBS's going on are messy, long and it's difficult to follow a thread. Just my 2 cents, sorry can't be more constructive for you NoFakie.
  7. Are they gonna get rid of the Tower Hacker. A hyper coaster needs a lot of space, it will be interesting to see how they fit all that in to the space.
  8. Took my parents up there last year October when they came. Up through Karuizawa, Kusatsu, Shiga Kogen, Nozawa, Nagano. Really good ride and very beautiful. Check it out.
  9. Someone get one! Or give me some cash to get one! Please....
  10. Yes IM, but most people in the sticks can't get anything apart from the DY, JT. (Can they??)
  11. Did you see that result from yesterday? Germany 0 - 1 Wales Germany must be more demoralised than an extremely demoralised team.
  12. Nagano is certainly popular - maybe coz of the nature of this site and us who are using it? I find many Japanese cities to be similar. It's the people in it and the buddies you have that make them special.
  13. Thing is though, gamers will already have a PS2 for the most part. It's the games that cost - and they have not come down in price. All of the consoles bring a loss for the hardware makers, they make their money on the software. Now if they reduced that cost, it certainly would be a good time for gamers. gg
  14. Fox is decent. Some interesting oldies and Trek programs on Super Channel too.
  15. I don't rate either. I'll read them when I see them, but......
  16. Welcome HoTRoD: Yes, the internet is very addictive, but if you were reading this so often, why didn't you post earlier then?
  17. First day of summer hey? So how long does "summer" officially last in Japan - 6 months??
  18. We wish. No Argentina for me I'm afraid. Got to wait till after the summer.
  19. You liked Cube, Ocean11? Is that the one where there's these people stuck in claustrophobic rooms and corridors? I must have been in the wrong "mood" when I saw that. Shawshank is a great movie. I liked Green Mile too, directed by the same bloke. Fun action movies - a Bond movie is always good good for a laugh, especially when there were crazy baddies wanting to rule the world. (The new one is out in November I hear, called Die Another Day). Not really into Python myself. American Pie made me laugh, perhaps embarrasingly.
  20. Hakuba 47/Goryu Shiga Kogen region ...for me. Oh yeah, and Kagura.
