Yep Ive got one. You can get a policy to cover just snowboarding. I had to get one to enter a japan snowboard association event. Just go to a snowboard shop thats hooked up with the JSBA and they can fix you up with a policy in the shop, it takes about five minutes and costs about 3000yen.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words but for a man with Oceans penmanship ability and receding hairline welll hmmmmm I guess every rule has an exception!

I must say Im dissapointed ocean. Its not like you to be taken in by one that obvious. Oh well nobobys perfect huh!!

Ive got to say it really got up my nose when the americans brought out "the flag". 20,000 or so indians died in an earthquake over there last year but they dont get a special mention. Both the snowboarding halfpipe events were great. The womens comp was unbelievable, fantastic to see how far girls are pushing it these days. I loved it when the Japanese girl came back and stomped the big flip in the second run after getting a fat lip trying it the first time. As for the sweep in the mens, Whats the big deal? Austrians do it in skiing all the time and what about the Aussie swimmers. They often clean up. Any sport with judges is going to be open to debate but all those guys in the top 6 rocked big time.

Yeah..... And wear a backpack with a probe, shovel, 2 roast turkeys, a houshold iron, 3 bags of rice and a can of beans. All that weight will flatten em right down!!

Try aiming for your edges to contact with the down slope side of the mogul instead of the uphill side like skiers do. Also like Barok says dont try to turn on every mogul ,ride across the mogul field keeping your legs super rubberry shockabsorbery. As you get better you can start going straighter down the hill. Or you could just avoid moguls alltogether (recommended)

Where do you draw the line between "real backcountry" and a little "rope ducking"? You have to be prepared for real backcountry but anyone can duck the rope right? I mean they only put up ropes to stop you from having fun . Just ask any expert rope ducker. Rope ducker: What happens if they see me? vs real backcountry rider: What if they dont see me, how will I react to unexpected injury or event. I bet there are a lot more problems with rope ducking. If you really dont expect the ski patrol to come get you when you stuff up then act like it. If people had more respect f

I hope people pay attention to the situation and realise that we all need to prove that we can ride responsibly or we will lose out big time in the long run. I was up at Niseko last week and noticed a poster about backcountry rules. It was all in japanese but I noticed it mentioned beacons. Anyone know about this? Will a beacon rule be enforced for the summit run ect.? I personally think its a great idea. O.K Mr pow pow Take a couple of breaths and relax. Ocean11 was referring to "pow pow wanks" and "pow pow concern" not to you the one and only true "pow pow". A little story about companies. The other day I was applying a bit of B.O. buster to the underarms when the whole ****in stick fell out of hte container and went all over the place. Why? Simple, you know the little plastic windy screwy thing that goes up the middle. Some genius decided to get rid of it. I wonder why they did that, to save money!!!
