Am I missing something here??!?! Good to see the Forum busier than ever even in mid-March, but.......?!!

Kiji- is a decent place, although the snow won't be too good now. In peak season tho its well worth a trip

I know its still only March, but I'm thinking of organising a trip to Gassan (the resort thats open until the end of July). Anyone up for it? Been out of Japan for a month or so, so good to be back! Cheers Wizz

Just back to Japan now after 4 weeks away. Very spring like. I will probably get anoter 4 or 5 weeks in before I give it up for the season. Then the traditional July board at Gassan.

From the name I am sure it is a good chance. Sure there aren't that many people called "fatty" in Niseko!!!

Hey folks. Been away again for a few weeks and see that it was pretty mild again, but we had snow this weekend....anyone been out there - what's the conditions like now? Thinking of going up to Yuzawa or Minakami on Wednesday..... Cheerz

You sound pretty my friend. There are some gits on the slopes, but aren't there everywhere? Maybe even much more so than you find here in Japan. You must admit that most Japanese are not exactly dangerous demons on the slopes....if anything like you say, there is the "stopping to observe" time that they seem to love to take. Sorry to hear about your board.

Anything interesting while I was away. Will be hitting Nagano next week, although the weather isn't looking the best. Good snow over new year?

I was up at Hakuba for the last few days and it wasn't too bad either. Had a wild time, but it won't stop snowing over there! Not a complaint mind. Next up Appi Kogen!

Well believe it or not, Ocean11, some people like the challenge of moguls. If you don't - that's fine. That resorts has an enormous run and is one of those challenging resorts out there - too few of them in Japan if you ask me.

I always think that Hakka-san in Muikamachi should get more attention. If you want long mogul runs (doing your knees in in the process), it cannot be beaten!

Over 100 by now probably - about 20-30 times a year....

Nozawa is a nice little village that cuddles round the bottom of the mountain, and that is where the vast majority of places to stay are. Charming place with many onsen, many ryokan and pensions and of course the superb snow mountain. Good choice.

Hey folks seen that GALA camera (go to the Yuzawa Now page)....pretty cool once it downloads - can move the camera about and stuff. Problem is - THERE'S NO SNOW!!!!!!!!!!
