Hi sunrise, How long are you staying there? I'm sure if you are in the area you will want to try the main Zao, but depending on your level Liza World might be fun for a day or half a day.

I love it when I find a new really great place to eat near where I live. Recently I have been eating out about two days a week. Recent find is a new Japanese style restaurant that does a killer katsudon and hire katsu teishoku.

I've had decent snow at Onikobe a few times.. . both were times when it would have been good everywhere though so no real test I suppose. Not challenging enough in general for me though.

I remember a story about a local Indian takeaway where I used to live. Story was that some of the sauces was more, er, natural than others. Done just for fun. I always wondered if there was any truth to that.

Moving away from Zao soon - maybe before the season... but will still be quite near.

Just goes to show how easily things can change. As boring as it sounds, an "average" season sounds like the best all round.

I hauled myself out of bed one morning to go there and did not regret it. It was fascinating (and not too smelly either). Highly recommended.
