  1. The only big accident I have witnessed was 2 skiers colliding. One doing big carves across a slope and the other doing smaller turns. I was on the chair and it was like watching 2 sine waves, and you could see where they would hit. Anyway, when I got to the bottom of the run, the son of the woman who was involved came down and met her, and they were standing near the chair line. The son said, in a loud voice, "I suppose it was snowboarder that hit you", to which she replied "No, actually it was another skier". So the "natural" predjudice is for some skiers to blame boarde

Don't ya hate that. Last time we did this there were about 4 or 5 of us 40+'s
  4. Q: Why do Mac mice only have one button? a: Because that's all a Mac user can cope with
  5. 1337 h4X0rz rul3 I choose Raury as my nickname because I have dark aburn hair that turns red sometimes (and occasionally even if I don't colour it), and I have what some would call a fetish for redheads. Ruary is English version of the Gaelic name/word that means Red. Rob Roy was Rob the Red(head). Because it is not only a nickname, but also a proper name, lots of people assume that it is my real name, so I answer to it. Plus people find it easier to pronounce than my real name. Oh, and yes I have changed the a and u around coz I think it looks better that way.
  6. As a britcit, I was allowed to register to vote in Aus. They have changed the law now, so you have to be an AU citizen to get on the electoral roles, but if you were on it before you can stay on it.
  7. despite this being the second or third snow discussion board that I hang around on, I have racked up 232 posts since October 2000. In comparison, on Sno Info I have racked up 9679 posts since September 2000 , and 91 posts on Snow dot Net since Jan 2001. The other forums that I participate in dont have counters.
  8. In some extremist Muslim areas, it is essential that you have facial hair. It has something to do with the way they interpret the Koran.

Raury is a fine fellow, displaying good humour and a character of virtue. The only attribute that stands greater than his demeanor is his dress sense, being pure style, yet functional at all times. Finally, his personal hygiene is beyond reproach. Cheers mate. db Does that mean you got the envelope? Otherwise I have no idea at all. {aside} You stay away for a week and you loose track of things.
  10. If you want to see some sick stuff, check out the clips on TGR clip of the week page. {disclaimer} I distribute TGR stuff in Australia.
  11. The only people that I have seen doing it in Aus were Japanese tourists. I am surpised that patrols don't do something about them, especially seeing some of them I saw had failed to slide a trail, and decided to use their boards as toboggans.
  12. Starbucks? Are you serious? We had one of those in Sydney but it shut down after the US tourists left after the Olympics. Buy yourself a plunger and some Melita Blue Mountain style ground coffee. Now THAT is coffee.
  13. I have improved every season, and last season had people with far more seasons behind them compliment me on my style I take at least one lesson every week I spend at the snow, sometimes two. If I do 2 lessons I will try and get different instructors as each instructor will pick up on another little fault that I have and give me some advise.
  14. That would be Samuel L. (mo'fo) Jackson.
  15. wakaran, that is the Peter Pan guy isn't it.

I welcomed aboard 21C because I noticed that he was a newbie, not because he is gay. I would do the same for someone else who had posted that they had just joined, assuming that I noticed the thread.
  17. Antonio, I see a lot of reports about gay bars getting busted up and people jailed. A lot of that is Korea (where the govt is still in denial). Likewise in areas like the philipines (spelling?). Trannies seem to be treated slightly different. It is my understanding that until recently (and this will vary according to country) there were no Asian actresses and that a lot of the actors that took females parts may have stayed in character. So maybe there is something in that, or maybe just those in govt like their trannies too. Sorry if I have completely the wrong idea here, I c
  18. Sounds like she may have coat-hangered herself and fallen on her back on a hazard. It is a worry that she was "found". Where were teh responsible adults?
  19. welcome aboard proudtobegay. We have a couple of gay guys on Sno Info who have outed themselves. How do you find the general population reacts to you outing yourself? I gather from some of what I have read about Japanese society, they can be pretty blinkered about stuff like that and ignore it, almost as if it will go away. Unlike woywoy, I have noticed recently that a lot of my male friends are gay. Doesn't do any harm for my popularity amongst the girls tho

Hard to say but Id put him over 40, mid 40s even perhaps :cough: :cough: At my (just reading back, it sounds like I own it ) resort, there are a few patrollers on boards, but mainly the mountain assistance. A patroller who posts on Sno Info reckons that it works best with a skier at the front and a boarder at the back of an akja or banana boat. The skier can provide slightly better steering, while the boarder can provide far better speed control than a skier.
  21. At Falls Creek ther are 5 lifts that you can slide under. They are official runs as well. Makes it easier to retrieve all the stuff you drop when you're on the chair.
  22. 'nulla, Do me favour, stay away from Falls this year

Anyone have any insight on this? Don;t know about in Japan, but I used my Visa throught the UK without any problems. However my Visa acts as a debit card as well, so I could withdraw from my bank account or from the Credit line. Best thing is to check with your bank what their international links are, and what symbol to look for on an ATM. off topic, BTW are you from Cro'
