And for dessert.... (a bit expensive)
gamera replied to frannyo's topic in General off-topic discussions
Just curious. How many did they sell? Quote: Originally posted by nicole: It sounds kind of... revolting? My favourite dessert is plain vanilla icecream with ice magic on top. It's a lot cheaper too. Put a tiny bit of rock salt and extra virgin olive oil on top of the vanilla icecream. Interesting harmony. I got it in a TV program. -
Can you take the crown cap out of a bottle by your teeth? I've seen a lot foreign people can do that.(Never seen women do that though - only men ) I guess probably I will bleed some from my mouth if I try it. Do I have weaker teeth? Don't say age thing, I still have full teeth of my own!!!

I remember one day a pair of kamoshika showed up while I chatted with a guest. Guest: What's that? Gam:They are kamoshika, you don't have them in your country? Guest : hum.. no. Is it yummy, gamera? LOL Don't eat!!!!! I think Japanese can't hunt kamoshika coz they are natural monuments but maybe some nations hunt antelopes to eat? -
Yeah, that's really a clear almond. Mine are getting dry almond.

I think perhaps I can say we are somehow still on samurai spirits. Result is important, BUT process is also. There's some generousity there all the time. BTW miso, in that sentence, We = subject ganbarimashita = verb? lol Funny when some English and Japanese words are used in mixture.

I have Adobe acrobat (not acrobat reader ) and sometimes I need to convert some files to pdf. file using it. As everyone says, yes it's annoying. I wonder probably it's more annoying when you have an access to some "ENGLISH language" pdf.files which are made on some Japanese OS computer. Because when I convert some to English pdf. file, I need to set the pdf. file size at "standard" size which is more than twice bigger than "smallest". If I set it at "smallerest" size, some letters seem to look funny on English OS computer, I have been told. If I need to convert some to Japanese pdf. file,

On that new OS, can we rewrite/edit/delete any files in a CD or DVD? I wonder why we can't edit files saved in a CD or a DVD on XP. I can do that on WinMe or Win98 though. Is that only my problem? Can everyone else edit files saved in a CD or a DVD on XP? I even can not delete files from a CD or a DVD while I am on XP.

Helicopter ski
gamera replied to gamera's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
They do max 400 ppl a day but it really depends on the weather in each day. So you can't book any beforehand. You just need to go there for receiption and see if it's available of not. -
As someone got a debuit with that screen name in this forum, I remember that I was told that Japanese people have almond shaped eyes. If Japanese have almond shaped eyes, what shaped eyes others have? I don't notice the difference really good.

Helicopter ski
gamera replied to gamera's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
9,500 yen sava. I think it's worth trying to climb up to 2204 meters altitude from 900+some. -
Has anyone ever tried helicopter ski? This season I have tried some new things for the first time and would like to try that one as well as it is availble at Tsugaike from March 10th. But I am kinda... acrophobia, not sure I can stay in a helicopter or not - have never ridden on one yet.

A Kuma and a pig can never get tied up to that cute girl in my imagination. -
Not me, Kintaro. I've tried Judo and Kendo but no Aikido yet. That is good to concentrate on, isn't it?

Tsondaboy I guess perhaps because you have been used to tako. Not so many people do because not so many food culture have tako in them.

Bank phone call...money transfers!!
gamera replied to sakebomb's topic in General off-topic discussions
Huh? If they have your account、they can know how much the transfer every month? I don't think that is really professional way for a bank to ask such a detail to the account holder. No worries, an oyaji innkeeper can never get any attention from his banks -
Torino or Turin?
gamera replied to akibun's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Yeah Bushpig, easy to guess but most J-->E dictionary shows "wild boar" for inoshishi. Which is common? number9 - uh oh 汽車 means car in Chinese? Very confusing to me! -
Out of bound issues at Arai
gamera replied to Blair's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Sorry to hear that Blair. Maybe some say rules are made to be broken, but if there's no rules at all, this world would be kaos. I totally agree to the opinion of _spud. Quote: Originally posted by _spud: If someone wanted to play in my house then they would play to my rules. It is as simple as that. Good luck Blair! And remember: your house, your rules. Torino or Turin?

Quote: Originally posted by number9: you can have written communication much more easily with the Chinese than non-kanji users. Sometimes I also do that written communication with guests from Chinese culture like from HongKong, Singapore etc. But a lot often their hand writing kanji are pretty differet from mine, sometimes hard to recognize which kanji they write. And because of gramatical difference, not 100% understandable. Chinese sentence is like English - S + V + O + C order. Japanese sentence is....... too flexible That's why when Japanese learn Chinese (Kanbun) in schoo -
Tree runs
gamera replied to merryJim's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
I guess maybe tree runs could mean #1 Courses with more trees like "tanne no mori" at Shiga kogen ichinose area. #2 To ski/snowboard down to the bottom passing through inbetween trees which is a lot of out of courses full of pow ?
