  4. As the temperatures continue to drop here in Japan, our reports are going to start appearing in the run up to the 09/10 season. Once again for the coming 09/10 season there will be exclusive daily reports on SnowJapan. In the coming weeks - every now and again - some of the Now! pages will be updated with info on how the weather is cooling down and preparations for the season are going. So keep your eye on the pages for updates. They will be irregular at first, but increase in frequency as we approach the winter season. In early October we will be bringing you some news of a few c
  5. Off topic - that word censor thing is/was there for a reason, so spaces don't really get round that reason. There's only a couple of words in there and we haven't touched that setting for quite a few years - perhaps it is time to get rid of that? What do you think? Having said that we don't want to encourage the Forums to become plastered with it all over the place. On topic - yes there are certainly a few people that I can think of off-hand that I very much don't like dealing with!
  6. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/giveaway-double-black-white-horse.html Welcome to the first Giveaway/Competition of the 09/10 season. It's still very early of course with months to go before the season gets underway, but we have a lot to fit in. For this first one, something a bit different.... your chance to leave your mark on a restaurant in Hakuba! Here's what the competition is all about: Quote: Help us find a name for the restaurant and bar at the Double Black - White Horse Hotel in Hakuba. The restaurant serves up a modern western style menu with a Japanese
  7. Hello Tlen The URL you have posted above is a page, not an image. If you go to the page and right click on the image, you will see the URL of the image. That's the one you want to use. Thanks.
  8. Hi there hira-rifu-rafu Thank you for the offer. You aren't able to add to the Now pages themselves, but you are of course welcome to post comments here on the Forums. But it is a good idea and hopefully we might get something up there soon, just to give people a bit of an update. I know how people like to read these things, even if it's just talking about the weather getting cooler! Actually, you should see some of the Now pages gearing up over the next few weeks and months with the occasional report every now and again. Of course the snow season is still a while away but onc
  9. Very sorry for the delay folks - slightly later than originally planned, but the good news is that this will be happening next week. So until then....
  10. Hi If you have pics of Japan or overseas snow, you are very welcom to upload them up to SnowJapan: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/photo_gallery.php Whether you do that, or if you just want to add a photo that you already have somewhere online, this is how to get the photo showing on the forums - just put after it. No spaces. Photos need to be .jpg or .gif format. Hope that helps.
  11. That information will certainly be added to a few things here. We have quite a lot of updates coming early October.
  12. No wrath here, Rob. Might even use it myself.
  13. Lots of placea to stay: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hotel/hakuba-nagano-accommodation.html And it is not far from Happo.
  14. snowjunky the tags you have in the above post are youtube ones, but it's an image .jpg file you have embedded, not a youtube video.....
  15. No worries snowjunky - I hope you understand what I mean by that explanation. One that lots of people use is http://www.imageshack.us but there are others. Of course, anything ski/snowboard/Japan related is most welcome in our Photos section
  16. snowjunky - I've moved that image to somewhere else on the server - out of the main photos section. Could you please keep the photo uploads to the site snow and/or Japan related? Otherwise if we allow any kind of unrelated photo to the Galleries / Photo section, it will get clogged up with 'off-topic' photos, and it will make the Galleries less useful to everyone. If you want any recommendations for free photo upload sites give us a shout and will be happy to help. Thank you
  17. There already is a link to the Forums on the page, thursday...
  18. Good idea peterson.... that would at least let people know we got the message and whether to expect a response...
  19. Problem is, we don't really like ignoring emails and do enjoy being as friendly as possible. We'd much prefer people get the message and didn't send the messages in the first place! (We got 1 message this morning that had 10 long and detailed questions. Not even a please on the end, it was more like a demand!)
  20. A bit of advice from friendly Forum members required. On our Contact Us page, above the contact form the following message is written: Quote: Please note before contacting us with specific questions: We are an information website/online community - not a travel agency. This means that unfortunately we will not be able to answer specific questions about hotels, resorts, travel arrangements, specific bus schedules, where to buy big boots etc - or provide specific information about employment opportunities at resorts. For the most part, the information that we do have is already
  21. Zer0star I really do not know what you are trying to do this afternoon with your persistant comments and provocations and then going ahead and posting a very clear advertisement. Here's the Guidelines for these Forums: http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthreads.php/forums/12/1/Forums_Rules_Guidelines_FAQ.html If you have not read them I suggest you take a look. At first, everyone is welcome to post on these Forums. All we ask is that everyone sticks to the Guidelines. If for whatever reason you can't accept those Guidelines, then the only thing we can suggest is
