  1. I will be driving from Chiba/Tokyo to Minamiuonuma in Niigata tonight. If anyone would like a ride all or part of the way please pm me.
  2. There are too many, it's what makes the sport extra enjoyable. I like when lifts have goofy names too. However, I haven't really paid much attention to trail names in Japan.
  3. because only the 26 million dollar man can handle it. (queue sweet sound effect) At ski santa fe in New Mexico there is a trail called Gay Way.
  4. @ippy dude ride with me and take my picture. @muikabochi thanks for clearing that up, but any idea why that trail is closed? @ilovezao the news made it sound like this is the most snow there in years, but you're on the ground so I'll take your word for it. I also heard that there is a place in 山形 that will be open til june. Do you know which resort that is? My vacation started today I need to ride!
  5. I've wanted to go to Switzerland since I was like 8. btw
  6. Ahhh I see I always tried to get over there from the coach lift. so the area isn't closed just that trail, but why has that trail been closed like all season?
  7. it was closed when I went in December and it was closed again yesterday. do they just close it on weekends?
  8. Because the ginormous spine was super fun. There was a stadium kicker too. A third of the mountain is still closed by the by. Anyone know why? My buddy and I reckon that there is some sort of crack in the mountain. Kandatsu had a similar issue last season. An unrelated note. Anyone been to Yamagata this season? Record snows, should be epic conditions.
  9. true. I think I mentioned earlier I'm mostly in Niigata. I'd also think living near the city and owning a vehicle wouldn't hurt.
  10. heheh good point. I should've added I trust to the end of that sentence.
  11. I tried to PM you, but it said "user can not use the messaging system"
  12. A fair amount of snow is needed to make a decent park so by late Jan there is usually plenty. Not just that, but you need a decent speed on a lot of those run ups to clear the knuckle. Any powder usually trashes the shit out of most park features and jan/early feb is usually consistent powder. Its really later in the season when conditions get fast enough to hit the feature for a lot of places. I mean you COULD devote a decent steep line to your terrain park in case of powder drops, but a lot of parks are built on average gradients with maybe a run in for the bigger hits. Throw in powde
  13. do you smell the glove? but wait an actual line is "I don't date I'd rather pay for pussy, you niggas sideways like that asian pussy." now that is lyricism my friends.
  14. A safety orange hat (don't want to be mistaken for a deer), purple jacket with a furry hood, khaki pants, rasta colored mittens and boots, smith IO goggles. If it's snowing I wear a big girly scarf. I only wear a t-shirt, underwear, and ski socks underneath, it's never cold in Japan. I'm warm and dry all day, if I think it's going to be a little chilly I'll wear basketball shorts under my pants. L1 Ryder Parka Holden Pants Dakine Mittens Vans High Standard boots I'd recommend Holden gear. Also, this is my third pair of DaKine mittens, they are cheap, and they work. The boots are kinda wha
  15. cool thanks guys. I've been out 22 times so far this year. I started the last week of November. I will be going to 石内丸沼 again this sunday. This time I will be going with some people though. I go to Niigata a lot, because it is close and most all the resorts are right off the highway. I'll be heading out 長野 way and def wanna check out Nozawa. Supposedly I won passes to some where out there? Good to know there is a place on here to try and find people to hang out with. I should've looked around a little more first huh? If I don't really know a place I'm a bit hesitant to venture out into t
  16. conditions at Gala were pretty good today, what with the free refills and all, but I rode p.m. and a lot of trails were ¿closed? I'd imagine that that resort is pretty crowded on the regular anyway. Since most of the trails were closed and it was my first time there I was hesitant to venture too deep into the woods, or down the closed trails. So, I went to the park. It was just too crowded. I ended up seshing the little kicker and box for hours I guess. Prior to that I was in a pretty low mood. I've logged about a month on the snow so far this season, and 90% of those days I've been alone. Now
  17. right a shish-kabab, but I knew of no other kebab's so I was befuddled. So, right, a Gyro and a Do'N'er Kebab are the same, thought so. Thank you Metabo Oyaji. side note When I heard this song for the first time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZCZJOdtdms I assumed he meant meat on a stick.
  18. I'm driving from Niigata to Chiba tomorrow. If anyone is interested in a ride all or part of the way PM me to discuss the details.
