  1. I currently have copious amounts of stoke. You could say I am over-stoked. I will be more than happy to share the gnar.
  2. They haven't opened yet. Looks like I will be going to Snowva.
  3. I'm planning on going to Okutadami next week (mid-week) to do some snowboarding. if anyone is willing/able to join me PM me.
  4. map that shows the pollution flowing toward the U.S. http://elitedaily.co...way-to-stop-it/
  5. but Niseko doesn't have that many trees. You're best bet would be Nozawa or Appi Kogen. They both get plenty of snow and definitely have more trees. for domestic travel to most resorts you have to plan on spending about an extra $200. Double it if you plan on leaving. For only ten days both offer enough varied terrain.
  6. You want to (very probably) be made fun of on national TV? Get made fun of on nat'l TV or get made fun of on the snow japan forum? At least one of these is quite likely to end in an adult situation. "Madmen" and "Weeds" weren't mentioned.
  7. If you liked southland you'll probably like The Shield. I personally think The Wire is infinitely more interesting.
  8. anyone know where to get an inner tube, or inflatable raft for as close to free as possible?
  9. very funny. I just saw that the overnight low in my hometown Augusta, NJ was 6c. for the first time in four years I'm a bit homesick.
  10. "During 2011, 24,988 individuals were granted asylum" in the U.S. That sounds like a lot. and by comparison 18 seems like very few, but how many sought asylum in Japan? 18?
  11. I'm living in Kashiwa, Chiba. Actually. Wish I were in Hokkaido. I really do need to study my Abenomics huh. Apparently the clean up is not going all that well. http://www.redflagnews.com/headlines/japan-finally-admits-the-truth-right-now-we-have-an-emergency-at-fukushima
  12. Thanks got some good suggestions. I don't know anyone with a boat here, so can't wakeboard. Wakeboarding is really hard anyway, I've tried numerous times and never could really get out of the water. I could go snowboarding actually, at Snova or Chiba Kings. I think I will try studying on the train at some point. Those peppers look amazing! you're going to get 7 batches of those? awesome! I was considering doing some camping, but I don't own a tent. Also, I assumed that everywhere was crazy hot anyway.
  13. So you have idiots in Australia as well. That is certainly reassuring. I was starting to think that the U.S. had a stronghold on ignorance.
  14. I used to live quite near to there. I moved for obvious reasons. Reading this thread for 20 minutes I've received more information about this situation than I had in two years.
  15. For the few years I've lived in Japan I've basically felt that the summer is just too hot to do much of anything really. What do you all do? *Other than drinking with the understanding that drinking is implied in all activities. I'd really like to know what to do. I'm thinking about finding a floatation device and just floating down the Tone river. I'd also like to do some driving.
  16. Will may I ask, how much was your initial investment in the "stepped income thingy"?
  17. I know I am wearing short sleeves. It's too hot in this country!
  18. thank you. I am heading back up to Niigata tomorrow like midday. The offer still stands.
  19. Hi everyone there is of course plenty of snow on the ground, and it's still falling. I will be heading up to Niigata tomorrow afternoon-ish. I have room in my car. Otherwise I hope to see some of you out there on the snow!
