I have not been but going to guess, Niseko Annupuri... on the island of Japan.

Shiga Kogen is nearest. Ryuoo Ski Park fairly close. A little further Nozawa and Madarao I suppose.

Anyone driven up there from near Nerima?

Awesome! Friend of mine has the Nikkor 35mm f1.4 and I had a go with that over the weekend. Very nice, similar to my 85mm but obviously wider. These lenses are all so tempting, and oh so expensive.

Thanks, perhaps next season I'll take them out. Oh and yes I meant the 85mm. It is probably my fave actually, an outstanding lens. I got it second hand but it was as-new as far as I could tell. Like the look of that camera Mr Wiggles, very retro! - what does Ken think about it?

This season I had a day at Tenjindaira. The weather (and me bottling it, slightly) kept me from straying outside of the little skijo itself but the snow was awesome. I was wondering about other places in Minakami. I can see the names of the places and where they are etc, but wanted to know what people on here thought were other places to hit next season. Cheers!

Hey, new here. Hi. I have a D700 along with these lenses: 14-24mm f2.8 24-70mm f2.8 70-300mm 84mm f1.4 Like the 800 pics muikabochi, don't think I'll 'upgrade' just at the moment though still very happy with my D700. Haven't taken it skiing though - what gear do you use to take it out?

My sister knocked her knee out in a bad way a few years back in Zermatt. She said the helicopter ride down was pretty spectacular! Though didn't make up for her mangled knee. I always thought it was funny she mentioned that. Sadly she's been put off skiing since then and won't go even if she could right now.

Kagura was my best day this season, the snow up there is really great. Easy to get to the resort but it takes a bit to get to the Kagura area.

Here's what I did 2 days in Yuzawa (Gala, Kagura) 2 days in Shiga Kogen 2 days in Nozawa 1 day at Minakami (Tenjindaira) Funds restricted it all.

I first skied in Austria 20 years ago. Break of 10 years ( ). Then came to Japan 18 months ago, so this was my first winter. Great to get back on the skis.
