  1. I don't think you will have much luck getting a bus/tour package. I checked out the JTB brochure and even the trips to Nagano don't start until early in December.
  2. Thanks Yamabushi. Every time I tried to send you a message the page would just reload but I guess the message never actually sent.
  3. I've been to a few early morning sessions from 5am. Its nice sliding under the moon but its pretty cold and I'm usually pretty worn out by about 1pm.
  4. I would recommend visiting an onsen. Its a great way to relax after a day on the slopes. Also being in a hot bath surrounded by snow is a pretty worthwhile experience.
  5. Thats great news. I tried to send you a pm but not sure if it worked. Let me know if you got it
  6. This is a great link. Looking pretty white up there now. Lets exciting.
  7. My knowledge of the Gifu area isn't that great but I have always called that area Gujo. Not 100% sure what the locals call it.
  8. I'm hoping to get out most wanted weekends this winter. This season I'll be going to Gifu, Fukui, Nagano and Niigata(maybe). If I can get a car and there is a base somewhere I'll be starting from mid December.
  9. No luck at my local shop. All they can do is order the replacement part for me from Burton which is 2100 yen. I'll just suck it up and get the parts from Burton I guess. A trip to Osaka to one of the bigger shops would cost me nearly that in trains.
  10. Has anyone used this at Hakodateyama(shiga)? There is a gondola from the base of the mountain to the skijo and was wondering if that was included.
  11. Pretty sure you can't renew them at the koban. You have to go to the licence centre and sit through a lecture.
  12. Recently got a copy of Absinthe Films - Resonance off iTunes. Pretty cool movie and worth a look if you liked their previous films.
  13. I recently purchased a new board and was hoping to use my old bindings as they seem to be still in reasonable condition. However, my binding are old Burton Cartels with the 3D screw hole setup. My new board has a 4 screw hole setup. I've done some research and it seems that burton made a unidisk but they seem to be sold out on rakuten. Has anyone seen these / tried them / know if they work? Or is there another option out there to make my old bindings fit my new board? Cheers
  14. Thanks for the advice guys. I've spent the afternoon and evening looking at different options, there are just too many to choose from. I'll keep reading and looking around.
  15. Definitely love a soak in an onsen after a day on the snow. Also go after a long hike during the warmer months. I like to think that it helps my legs recover faster but if nothing else it just feels good.
  16. Hi People, I'm looking for a new snowboard for this season and was hoping for some advice. I've been riding a 160 custom i bought 2ndhand 2 seasons ago and it was good to learn on but now I want something a bit more fun. The main thing I want from my new board is the ability to go everywhere. I love playing in the trees and hitting the fresh pow stashes when I can but I also need something that is fun on groomers and also able to play a little in the park. Last season I did about 1/3 of my riding in Gifu and Shiga (prefecture) where there wasn't always powder stashes so that's why I wan
