  1. That is really good on you. I am sure your kid will grow up with best of both worlds. When he speaks the language with no foreign accent, the receptions is way better. And he is born there. I hope he gets his Japanese citizenship. It is strange but true. One QLD'er who owns a dropzone told me he reacts when he hears a foreign accent. He told me talking to me was like talking to a blue Aussie because I speak his language. When I taught English to Japanese people, I tried to give them a bit of confidence by saying Everyone has an accent.. Hispanic, Afro, Jamaican, Indian, Scot, Italian. Irish
  2. Look mate when I was a kid I thought there will be no passports and united currency in the future. People talk about "Free Trade" but we as a labour commodity cannot free trade our service anywhere in the world. I can point out that there is a resurgence in right wing Japa patriotism. (Not only Japan, everywhere, especially USA, neo Nazi movement in Germany .. all around since the 9/11 time) Why don't people be sensible enough to keep a good name of being a Gaijin. A handful of people can make a bad name for others. Sure Japanese are xenophobic but being a Gaijin brings merit- you get treat
  3. It's all about having a great guardian angel .. Did you see how he skidded into between the wheels
  4. You guys don't get it..do you. If you are a Japanese citizen, you can do what you like in you country and the people and police will tolerate it. Gaijins don't have that right. You have the privilege to stay.. so behave yourselves.
  5. Locals? what makes them so? You mean long term visitors and short term visitors? The Japanese law is that they can prosecute you without anyone making a complaint, even after the incident... and I am sure that there will be some very happy people to see some gaijins running a muk being deported.
  6. I don't care how much more expensive they are if they do the job well. Buying a cheap wristguard or using rollerblade ones are not an option because they actually make it worse- a leverage where the bone will snap. How expensive will it be to break a wrist and not being able to work for 5 weeks or more is that going to be ... You pay cheap, you get dodgy.. That's why I said invest. Not throw your money away.. Dig?
  7. Invest in a glove like Level with biometric wrist guard built in it.
  8. Great travel report! Impressed you can read some Japanese. WoW, a full day with lots of walking.
  9. It looks like a floater, just need to flush it a few times.. I wonder if there is a Guiness record of how many flushing it took
  10. Oh, I missed this thread Skiing- My parents were mountain lovers. I was a 3 yo and I consider it lucky. Snowboarding- My girlfriend. I wanted to do something with her and she taught me. The first 2 days was tuff but got it on my 3rd day. Lovin' it.
  11. They all break down or end up making rapping noise....
  12. shit. fuk. pis. bum. poo .... essential English some people's are floaters....
  13. 1978~80 ... had a mate who owned a condo with his brother and sister. Stayed there a lot until we were surviving on 1) plain rice with mayonnaise on top. I prefer peanut butter. 2) bean curds with Jam on top. Blueberry jam is better. 3) lettuce.
  14. Anyone who claims accuracy (how accurate? more likely tendency) to long term weather forecast is BS to me. Anyone can get a pretty good idea one week ahead from looking at the charts, but then micro metrology is a different story. It's like predicting if a gorgeous girl is going to get a boyfriend or not.. Womens emotions and autumn weather are alike, as the Japanese say.. I would like to see someone predict wind speed and direction. Fluid dynamics is the hardest branch of physics no one really knows what's really going on although there are computer simulations.
  15. Actually, margarine clogs up the liver. Fat is necessary to lubricate the toxins in solid form for the body to expell. The problem is when it goes into your blood stream. Then the liver has to metabolize it. Beef fat including butter is hard for the body to metabolize compared tp vegetable fat, or pork, chicken fat. The process of manufacturing margarine involves high temperature which makes it chemically so strong that the liver can't break it down, and reduces the livers function to filter out the toxins...more toxin in your system can cause all sorts of problems including mental illnes
  16. We used to do a lot of nighta in Naeba. It was good for us too because it never got crowded. There used to be a lot of ballet skiing going on at nighta there after a day's hot dogging.. Then we hit the Disco....how we had so much energy I have no idea...
  17. I've read 5 locations (including Kushiro, Hokkaido) has recorded THE Warmest winter ever on record.. according to Asahi News
  18. I hope it will change GN. I see lots of 3 yo skiing in Tirol. Then they start snowboarding when they reach 6~9 ... Will be good if everyone has done both. Yeah, it all started with Abraham, whether you are in the Jesus cult or Mohhamed's ... How the hell he got convinced that a good god can command one to sacrifice his own son is a mystery. I would consider it evil and tell him to pick someone his own size.
  19. I got a solution. High Tech disposable nappy for air travel that costs half a pound. Carry on an empty drink bottle to pee pee. Or in the coke can or wine bottle you bought on that flight and hand it back to the attendant.
  20. That's hilarious...... Another good reason for me to not eat out in Chinese restaurants. My own cooking tastes better. There was this China restaurant in Narrabeen that got busted for cockroaches and they found cats hanging in the fridge....
