  1. I think you've forgotten what it's like to live in a comparatively snow-free part of Japan!!! Let's Yeti!!!
  2. Great, stoke-inducing video Dunga, with a decent-looking section in Asahidake!
  3. Sorry about that - got a bit over-excited by the thought of finding my stoke!! PS pm on its way! I thought so!
  4. Thanks everyone for your suggestions! In preparation for visits to the Golden Triangle resorts (Granview, Yeti & Sayama), I've decided to follow Mambear's advice and the following video lesson, and wax my board this weekend! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFp4X5Ivixs
  5. So I've seen the trailers for the latest and greatest snowboarding movies, the adverts for this season's new gear, a first tracks video from Whistler Blackcomb and a couple of short movies at the Yokohama showing of the Banff Mountain Film Festival, but I've yet to feel to the urges that I normally get around this time of the year to hit the white stuff. In short, my winter stoke has gone for a burton! Maybe it's the unseasonably warm weather we're experiencing or the lack of snow on Fujisan but something's up! Hell, the other weekend I even passed up the opportunity to check out the Kanda/O
  6. ganbatta!! All's well that ends well - though perhaps I should wait until you get there before saying that!!! Look forward to hearing all about your exploits over there.
  7. Surely that goes without saying! That said, I should really get my arse up there this season!!! Just like South Korean resorts ippy, so you should feel right at home!!!
  8. Was toying with the idea of going but not sure I can make it now.
  9. You can't go wrong with a bit of cheddar...and a big dollop of Branston pickle!! Good to have you back Cheeseman!
  10. Here are some photos from the excellent Koenji awa odori on Saturday 24th August. For more info check out my blog entry:- http://www.snowjapan...ound-of-summer/ http://www.snowjapan...312_2899724.jpg http://www.snowjapan..._312_371449.jpg http://www.snowjapan..._312_961867.jpg http://www.snowjapan..._312_135514.jpg http://www.snowjapan..._312_610645.jpg http://www.snowjapan..._312_312404.jpg http://www.snowjapan...312_1332154.jpg http://www.snowjapan..._312_607510.jpg http://www.snowjapan...312_1607608.jpg http://www.snowjapan...312_1014715.jpg
  11. Which all goes to prove that skiers are, as we all know, complete nutters! That said, he's right in saying that if you can ski stones you can ski anything! & you would never complain about poor conditions again, so maybe he's not so crazy afterall!
  12. Loved Bariloche when I was there 9 years ago KD, though it was the very end of their season so I didn't get to hit the slopes. Lovely part of the world!
  13. So you don't miss the beach and bikinis then? Enjoyed my first Aki Aji the other night, courtesy of my local conbini (the one with 2 numbers) and very nice it was too, though I'll reserve full judgement until I've had a few more cans!
  14. So not at conbinis then?? I might have to go out for a recce!!
  15. That's the fastest I've ever clicked on the the "Hide" button!!!
  16. There must be a mother-in-law joke in there somewhere but I'll leave that to pie-eater!
  17. It is on sale everywhere or just selected places/stores?
  18. I bought them nearly-new (from someone who gave up on them after one trip) so can't tell you what they were like from new, but they didn't seem to pack out much when I had them. They fitted me well but I always ended up with some toe pain in my wider right foot by the end of the day, so ended up replacing them with the less stiffer Salomon Synapse wides. No issues with the lacing system. Good boots all-round!
