Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano New snowfall at base 4cm Snowfall at base this season 424cm Posted on Friday 4th February 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here . We had to put up with some strong winds again yesterday morning. I was just about to finish up at Happo-one when they were able to get the Riesen quad lift moving (just before lunch). A friend reported some windy conditions over at 47/Goryu too in the afternoon with a few lifts closed and wind blowing around the light snow that was falling. Very nice snow conditions though. We start this morning with cloudy skies and very light snow still in places. There's a bank of heavy looking cloud across the mountains, down to around mid areas. There's some brightness behind the clouds though and perhaps we'll get some of that during the day today. The ski areas are generally reporting a bit of fresh snow in lower areas and around 10cm higher up. The weekend still holds promise of heavy snow and cold temperatures. Forecasts don't seem to be predicting wind problems, so let's hope it works out like that. ----- Total snowfall accumulation this season so far [*upper areas] [As reported by official sources at time of this report] Hakuba Goryu: 670cm Hakuba 47: 625cm Hakuba Happo-one: 569cm Hakuba Cortina: 738cm Tsugaike Mountain Resort: 675cm ----- Hakuba Goryu Reported snowfall: - Upper: 5cm Official snow depth: - Upper: 335cm - Toomi: 170cm Hakuba 47 Reported snowfall: - Summit: 10cm - Lower: 5cm Official snow depth: - Top: 305cm - Base: 170cm Hakuba Happo-one Reported snowfall: - Kurobishi: 15cm - Riesen: 4cm - Usagidaira: 0cm - Nakiyama: 0cm Official snow depth: - Kurobishi: 350cm - Usagidaira: 212cm - Nakiyama: 125cm Hakuba Iwatake Snow Field Reported snowfall: - Mountain Side: 0cm - Village Side: 0cm Official snow depth: - Mountain Side: 190cm - Village Side: 90cm Tsugaike Mountain Resort Reported snowfall: - Upper: 0cm Official snow depth: - Upper: 320cm - Lower: 120cm Hakuba Norikura Onsen Official snow depth: - 330cm Hakuba Cortina Reported snowfall (24 hours): - Summit: 10cm - Lower: 10cm Official snow depth: - Top: 330cm - Base: 225cm Hakuba Now 2021-2022 season Data as Friday 4th February 2022 Total snowfall at base so far 424cm Number of days snowfall observed at base 39 days Most snowfall observed in 1 day 54cm (14th January) November 2021 snowfall 29cm reported on 4 days December 2021 snowfall 130cm reported on 12 days January 2022 snowfall 228cm reported on 20 days February 2022 snowfall 37cm reported on 3 days Previous report Next report All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Hakuba.
