Just a little light snow falling today, and the sky is brightening up a bit. Even some blue skies to the north...obviously we're still in the storm cycle that didn't exactly bring heavy snow to the Tokyo metropolitan area. But I am happy for you city folk; nothing spells a day of traffic confusion quite like several tens of centimeters of snow on the city streets.
I wish there were more to report from Myoko, our fair town at the base of the mountain of the same name, but it is quiet. Lots of restaurants aren't opening; many that are open don't serve alcohol, so what's the point in going out? There is still so much snow everywhere that we're never really done pushing it into more convenient piles. The machines are even tired, as it seems everybody is making minor repairs, changing belts, etc. Nice white mountains, though, when things clear up enough to see them.
Lift operations seem to be back to normal; Akakan is at full strength, Akakura Onsen has increased the running lifts to eight, Alpen Blick Ikenotaira now at four.
