It's back: the snow started falling this morning, and it's going hard at the moment.

A good day and night of snow - real Myoko-style, hard-to-drive snow.

Yesterday the snow was disappearing fast; it rained; it was unusually warm.

A real Myoko day: 50+cm of fresh, an evening of snow so thick it looks like fog; and that fantastic feeling under the boots, with soft snow up to the ankles.

Oh, it is snowing out there today, and it's the real, big-flake, some-centimeters-per-hour kind now. Warms my heart just looking out the window (but also spurs me to some action on the slopes!).

An early-morning departure this morning, and only Akakura Onsen has made its report for the day, but it feels like the calm before the storm today.

It is cold and clear this morning; -9° on the car thermometer, and similar numbers being reported by the resorts that have submitted reports.

The flakes may be small, but they keep on a'fallin. On top of the 10cm I reported yesterday, it's kept building up with an additional 23cm (at least in the spot where I stuck my ruler.

The trees are covered in a nice, light coating of snow this morning. Not a huge amount of fresh, perhaps 10cm or a little more at the base of Akakan, but a welcome addition and snow continues to fall.

We had a pretty nice snowfall over night in Myoko, with about 35 cm of fresh to be snowthrown this morning (I'm actually getting a little use out of my trusty monster machine).

The good news: it's snowing again.

The snow keeps coming down, even if we haven't seen the big increases that we keep getting promised.
