MistaSparkle 0
The only Japanese comedy I've seen, while sometimes really funny, has been pretty stupid. I wonder if there is anything more sophisticated than slapstick in Japanese comedy. Are two guys from Osaka slapping eachother on the head the extent of Japanese comedy? big-will 7
From my experience, limited - thats about it! Oh yeah, youve got those tradition blokes in kimono sitting on cushions doing their stuff - rakugo?? dont know much about that tho

Glen Falting 0
Japan hit its comic high point with the Tokyo Shock Boys. Since then its been all down hill. I saw a show in the states last month which had extracts from a dodgy Japanese show called Takeshi's Castle. It had Beat Takeshi looking a lot younger and less smashed up and all these Japanese people doing stupid and dangerous things but with a couple of US guys doing the voice overs. It made for a very funny mix, watching Amercians make fun of Japanese making fools of themselves.
