I'll take it!

(and pay someone else 3,000 an hour, leaving me with 630,000 yen NET for doing practically nothing...(including -15% tax and 100,000 yen for rent)

Growth/pay rise comes, as with all business, from opening more schools and/or increasing efficiency. Increase average class size (some jukus have 40-50 students at 2,000 yen a head)...

We all know you have a fantastic job, db, but in the real world (or should I say the average punter's world), 1,200,000 yen is more than most can expect to earn even after twenty or thirty years of working. Not to mention that, with investments, one could quickly earn enough to retire on a salary like that.

you could have 150 or more students paying around 7k/month.

plus some nice ichiman jobs.. ( they still exist)

Some people hack english teaching ( I did and in most cases it's true) I just saw an opportunity and took it. Its not a career for me either. just something to do for now.

woywoy, a nasi goreng a day and a place to sleep! come on down!
