Curt 1
That looks great Ocean11 - whats the size of that land you have? I'm impressed!

LiquidX 0
is it one of those runs-on-water ones?
miteyak 0
You:ll be wanting one of these... I remember the twenty minute wheelbarrow rides to Dads allotment when I were a wee lad...
Ocean11 0
Curt, I don't really know how big it is. Tennis court size maybe? Yes, I do go there by car unfortunately as my son always wants to go, and I don't have a tandem bicycle and he's too young to cycle safely. I'm looking for a house with a garden and maybe a rice paddy nearby too. Then I won't have to drive. My son is quite knowledgable about growing things as he learns about it at school. I want to encourage him in this.

TheOrange 0
Yes that is brilliant, how come its so cheap? I'd do the same if I could, perhaps its a bargain we just didn't know about. Working on a plot of land would be more fun than jogging as well
Ocean11 0
It's cheap because agricultural land is cheap. There isn't much demand for it. I found it through the 'Shimin Nouen' section Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries website. http://www.maff.go.jp/nouson/chiiki/simin_noen/top.htm Click the 全国市民農園リスト link, then find your area, and there should be a list of similar deals. Next time I go, I'll take a photo of my 'quiver' - which tools are good to have. I bought 2 avocados today and buried one whole to see what will happen. I'll eat the other one and raise its seed over the winter (if there is one...)
minus 1
Good find! Still surprised at the extremely low cost.
