SnowJapan Moderator SnowJapan.Com#4 5 Posted January 25, 2007 SnowJapan Moderator Share Posted January 25, 2007 A new interview with Mike Harris from Canyon has been put online. http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/interviews-mike-harris.html "I first started skiing at the age of 10, at Cardona ski area in Central Otago. I was hooked instantly, but because of the costs, distance, and rugby obligations it was hard to get in much time in each season. When I hit university the government had just initiated a student loan scheme program, that myself and hundreds of other students put to good use by quickly snapping up seasons passes for Treble Cone and new ski gear." http://www.snowjapan.com/e/features/interviews-mike-harris.html Please note that the views expressed in any Features on Snow Japan are not necessarily those of Snow Japan. Yuki's Passion 1
sweet interview! Wish more areas would create DBD areas - those trees at Cortina (and so many other resorts which could be open) are sick

SerreChe 2
Good read. I have met Mike on the mountain before when hiking, good bloke. It is great to have a good english-speaking guide in that neck of the woods. I am sure business is going to increase quickly as people are aware of the availability of such people. The other day when I read that FT had dropped in GaraGaraZawa, the 3 kiwi guys came up to mind right away as I thought it may be a bit early in season to do it (obviously FT knows what he is doing and I am no Happo BC expert either to judge). I did not know they were Mike's mates. Must send a shock through the system. I think one of the legacies of this tragedy is that it has made a lot of people more aware of the dangers and more safety conscious.
