HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher 2
Hi HighlyTrainedNovaTeacher here. Just wondering if people here put much importance on gloves. I have never had any "good" ones and want to cuz my hands are always getting really cold. Every time I'm out there I think the same - get some good ones! Any tips?
Fattwins 0
my hands get too hot so I buy cheap gloves and bring under layers if they get cold. but buying good golves is always good. but...... if you grab your skis alot dont get gloves that are too good youll cut them up easy
quattro 1
I've been using Marmot Ultimate Ski Gloves for about 8 seasons. Just picked up a new pair. They are extreamly warm and durable. The only downside is the price.$$$ There a mix of gor-tex xcr, leather and prima loft (synthic down)
scoobydoo 0
How much are they then?
Teledude 0
I second the Ultimate if you 've got cold hands, I've had a pair for years as well...but now I find that they're TOO warm. I'm looking at some Cloudveil Troller gloves or Marmot's Work gloves. I really like leather as it lasts a good long time. The Troller's are $65 US The Work gloves are about $80 US
Teledude 0
Oh yeah, the Ultimates are about $150 US but you get them cheaper just look around the web
Ocean11 0
I'd try to get some really good Gore-Tex covers only. These will need to be long. Most gloves with insulation get far too hot, then wet with sweat. Inside your covers you can use another kind of glove ranging from cotton work gloves to fleece depending on the conditions. Fattwins 0
again if you are a freestyler at all any good glove will get destroyed cause you grab your skis or board. if not get the best that you can afford
slow 0
I never had very nice gloves, either. I'm going to buy these Patagonia gloves. I'm spending much money for my ski equipments this year... waiting for snow in Hakuba now.
merryJim 1
They look good - very long. Mine are not long enough. Must get some new ones.
mfurmane 0
LONG YES!! I would also recommend finding a pair with a little "squeegie" thingy on one of the gloves. Tremendously helpful in powder or on snowy days!! I currently wear a Burton pair...Squeegie in full effect....plenty warm....maybe not last as long as say a Marmot or similar top of the line brand, but not as pricy either....maybe 50-70 USD or so.
