me jane 0
Yeah, it's something I really want to do soon. I guess this year would be a good one as I won't be able to spend the whole of any trip on the snow because of babysitting issues. Sanno, did you mean "park your car in the village"? How long did it take you to walk from there?
Domokun_72dpi 0
I love it SJ! I might get my wife to come visit me on my last day in Nagano so we can visit them. Thanks for posting, that's awesome!
bushpig 0
Snow Monkets kick arse! Went there with CB and others last new years and it was awesome. As sanjo said, the walk from the nearest carpark isn't so bad.
Domokun_72dpi 0
Is this far from Hakuba?, if so can anyone give me rough directions & time it takes to get there plz!
big-will 7
It is near SHIGA KOGEN, basically at the bottom of the Shiga Kogen region (20 minutes or so drive from there). From Nagano it's probably about an hour, on the other side from Hakuba. So it will be 2 hours or so from Hakuba.

grungy-gonads 54
Don't take it personally if they just totally ignore you
bushpig 0
They can actually be a little intimidating when they walk straight towards you.
Snow-Woman 0
Yes, it's "get out of the way hugh-man" Anyone who goes to Shiga Kogen needs to check those monkeys out
frannyo 2
I went there in late July. Fantastic place it is. Well the place itself isn't anything too special, nice as it is, but those monkeys are a lot of fun. We spent over an hour just chilling out with them. Wanted to get in the onsen as well but thought better not.
r45 4
Are there ever times when people go and there be no monkeys hanging around, or is it pretty much guaranteed that they'll be there monkeying around?
scouser 4
I've never heard of anyone not seeing them. Their food is there and they have good views. Good to stay
